Sketchbook Thread of piglet-pooh

#1

Okay I’ve finally decided to start a sketchbook, mainly as a way to gauge my progress. I’m still and very much a beginner so if anyone out there has any useful comments/suggestions/techniques feel free to post them.

Today I’ve been drawing the female figure from a couple of reference pictures, spending no more than 4 minutes on each sketch, no rubbing out of lines, just trying to nail the pose and get the main lines in.

and some more…

Here are some more of the 4 minute sketches I’ve been doing. It’s actually pretty amazing how many you end up with after an hour or so… I’ll just post a selection of what I did this morning.

piglet-pooh,

Welcome! Nice to see your work here. If I may suggest something, I think that you might really get a lot out of Vilppu’s Gesture DVD. Also check out Anthony Ryder’s links, he has a great book that I recommend to everyone.
