Welcome aboard! Glad to see you starting an Anatomy Thread here! :slight_smile:

You have some nice works here, and I’d like to see you develop your skills further. The thing that I always recommend, which I think is the most useful in terms of developing one’s figurative skills, is to do Master Copies.

Take a look at Erich’s thread:

Anatomy Thread of El Chief (Erich Schreiner)

He has done a series of 100 or so Master Copies, and I think has improved enormously as a result. :slight_smile:

What are your thoughts on what kind of work you would like to do here on your Anatomy Thread?

Thank you very much for your precious advises and the link Rebecca.

Actually I still don’t know how will I shape my thread but all I know is I haven’t work with a model for last 16 years :slight_smile: So I am thinking of attend some open life drawing classes here in Toronto in a near future. It would be great if I can take those classes maybe once in a week and share the progress here.

I had to deal with mostly designs and architectural 3d stuff since I have graduated The Fine Arts University. Literally I need to work hard on my figures (as you can see). But on the other hand I have to pay my rent and bills LoL. So let’s see what happens and do not forget to encourage dinosaurs like me :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: When I had to chance to attend The Fine Arts Academy, all my dreams were to be a good comic or pinup artist. To be an industrial designer has never been my number one goal. But it’s just happened. Anyway, I still want to draw a couple of pinups and maybe a graphic novel which I can send to some publishers. Of course I am not ready yet. I havent use brush for many years LoL. But it is my desire and I will do that even if I will have to do after my retirement :smiley:

We are currently on OFDW 012, and will be moving on to OFDW 014 shortly…we’ll likely be doing another Master Copy as we did for OFDW 012, which was quite a popular Workshop! :slight_smile:

While it may not be the same as drawing from a live model, it sure is a heck of a lot cheaper and more convenient! :thumbsup:

All dinosaurs are welcome! :slight_smile: I think it’s great that you want to do a comic book, and I absolutely encourage you to do what you love…bills and obligations are one thing, but it doesn’t have to mean not pursuing one’s interests at all…good luck with that endeavor, and I hope to see progress on that here! :slight_smile:

I do not like the body of the man so, but it is only because of the fact that I do not find extremely Bodybuilder aesthetic. Technically seen, well drawn.

Hi Ravena,

Thank you for your critics. These pictures are drawn for a particular forum which gives the photographs. So I did not choose them. But I agree with you about the male figure. Actually flexed bodies and muscles are not easy to draw with a flowing lines. It looks like an ice :slight_smile:

I haven’t been around for a while. These are my recent female torso studies by using photos and illustrations as a reference. I hope you won’t hurt me too much Rebecca :stuck_out_tongue: :smiley:

Good to see you back! :slight_smile: Looks like you’ve got some good stuff going on, I think the female torso especially shows a lot of promise - the loose brushwork you have going on is really working out nicely. :slight_smile:

Thanks for your kind words Rebecca :slight_smile: You always insipre people with your enthusiasm and positive manner.

I am glad you like my 3d stuff, because we can’t call them artistic or anything related to plastic arts. Actually I am stuck with this 3d Arch-Viz business and it is not very satisfying. So, I don’t miss any opportunitiy to work with my tablet and Painter. However, I haven’t done any 2d work for a long time and it is not easy to get to rid of the rust.

I will definitely check gilgamesh828’s thread.

Hopefully I will update my 3d stuff as well.

it really shows you are influenced by comic book illustration.
Since that is what you aim for, I think you are definetely on the right track :smiley:
