I suggest you dont change your images from natural colours to a fake/flat black. I know it shows the drawing better, but it doesnt give your time and effort justice.

Like the ribcage study! They are HARD! But with patience and time it is just like any of other part really

Keep up the anatomy studies! They are VERY useful!

I use a 2B pencil as it is nice for a sketchy style and quite easy to rub lines out. It also presents pretty well so theres no need to change the values in PS. Also if I do real fast studies and I dont want to sharpen my pencil every so often, i use a 2H pencil, hard lead means it takes longer to wear down. It is quite light, so if your not confident in showing light sketches, then these can be changed in Photoshop. But the HB and B+ dont really need to be changes IMO.

Hi there!

Nice studies Monster-General!! About the images to draw, don’t think too much about it, just draw whatever you feel like to, anything you like. Slowly you will realise what your weaknesses are, and then you will know what to focus on to improve your skills.

But listen to Rebecca and Fl3wk, look carefully to the masters of the Renaissance and do a lot of anatomy studies.

I also use a 2B pencil, it’s not too hard and not too smooth, very flexible just try it.

Keep up the good work!!

hi Monster_General Very nice anatomical studies! I like the line quality of your sketches

#50

Hey , Thank you  I am trying to do lines correct as possible

#51

I’ve worked on that Rubens Drawing link you gave me Rebeccak , done around ten minutes , I didn’t get into details on both lines and colours by much . Just wanted to do a quick sketch

#52

Monster_General,

Good to see this! One thing to notice about Rubens is that he is all about line quality. You might try some of the chalk / charcoal dry media brushes in PS just to get a bit more of a papery / charcoal feel.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#53

Oh , I wasn’t know its about line quality . Also I don’t know about digital painting by much , but I will gonna try later
