Sketchbook Thread of Metacom

#1

first of all let me introduce myself. my name is Kevin Gomez. Im a graduate from the art institute of houston. i recently moved to austin texas. as of now i dont have a job in the art field…so im using this place to get in on some of the forums, do some projects and hopefully get some new portfolio work out. im starting this sketchbook to refine my drawing skills. i want to be able to draw the human figure without much reference. so im digging in books and going to start practicing! right now i a george bridgman book, burne hogarth, and i have all of andrew loomis’ books on pdf file. so thats what im going to be using as well as reference art work from any one inpirational and of course all the masters! well this is what i did for today… its focused on neck muscles. hopefully i’ll be making posts daily!

thanks to the both of you! dont have much time right now, but im surely going to look more into your sketchbooks, but from what i see…both are equally amazing!!

today was a busy day…been looking for a new apt. its already 3am…and i have to be at work at 8…but i managed to sketch a couple of arms haha. i would keep going but my eyes are already starting to close. below that is a sketch i did about a month back…its from a statue, if im correct i saw it on here, but it was a 3drender. saw it and thought it would be a nice sketch to try. enjoy. be back tomorrow!
