Sketchbook Thread of Lady Medusa

Lady M,

Techincally speaking, the basic painting is coming along quite nicely! However, I think you might consider retweaking the proportions quite a bit ~ the skull is a bit too elongated, especially at the top, and too wide / thick at the bottom / jaw area.

What are your thoughts on this?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

I like the rendering on the skull a lot. But the proportions seems to be just off. Unless you are going for something more humanoid than human persay. Keep up the good stuff. Loved the nice soft feel of studies on page 1

I think I focused a little too much on what I thought when I saw mr.Turners Skull when I drew it. It appears so long so I exaggerate it whitout acctually knowing it since my brain is thinking, “Man, This guy had a loooong head :S”

2 Life Drawings of my adorable cat sleeping.

Should be doing humans <.<… good exersise anyway I think
Had to be speedy since she moves a whole lot even while sleeping.
First one is traditional, second is digital, in case you were wondering about the different line sharpness

Lady M,

I love your second drawing! Completely adorable! I have also been following your CollabBattle Challenge thread, and the work you’re doing there is just incredible! I really think you should post that here, as well (or to the Creatures Thread).

Cheers,

lol, I was too busy whit the challenge to notice that last comment, Miss Kimmel XD

Shadow study:
Not sure if it fits in here since it’s a towel though

I’m quite happy whit it

And now over to THE Frustration, whit a capital “F”
Foot:

Did some other ones too, but they didn’t really resemble feet at all :S
I Hate Feet DX. I’m going to do them until I can get them correctly this time.
The pose is close to the one my female fairie has in my “The Journey Begins” entry

#27

Hey, that towel is looking really nice, Lady M!

LOL about the Challenge  - I haven’t been very good about checking threads recently, but will try to get over later.

I think the foot is looking good, but I think it’s really tough to do this kind of digital drawing with a hard brush. You might try a charcoal brush or something with just a bit of texture. For some reason, this just makes a straight drawing easier to do.

Let’s see those foot studies, then!

Cheers,

Unfortunatly I forgot to save the other feet studies D:! I was only going to hurry and switch of the machine for a reason I can’t remember :’(… oh well, done is done.

I’m doing another project, that should help me learn anatomy, seeing as I tend to remember things a little easier this way.
Unead Warriors and stuff!! (Oh-so-surpisening of me XD. And yes, I will most probably do an ork or some other brute like humanoid creature)
Even if they are 3d, it is ok to post them here right?

First I’m going to make the skeleton, then I’ll put muscles on some of them, then skin and then clothes.

So here is my first attemt:

lol, yeah, nothing impressive (as of yet ;D)… But when I had reached this far I noticed how much detail I had forgotten ^^; (Teeth were supposed to get added afterward)
So next try I’ll compose his cranium, part for part and see if it gets better
I also noticed how I elongated this one aswell :S, this guy is now shrinked and hopefully at least in proportion ^^

#29

Interesting start <> will check back to see where it goes

The cranium got so many odd features
No theeth or cracks yet, but its better than my first try

I’ve noticed that on most cranium pictures, one of the parietals appear shorter or just flatter. Wierd and intresting.

This time I’m not sure what is wrong ^^
Not sure If I’ll do teeth or mandible next, think I’ll do mandible

Lady M,

My apologies for missing your last post ~ hey it’s very cool to see you working in ZBrush!

Do you know about this ongoing Workshop?

3D Workshop: Digital Anatomy Sculpture 1! The human hand - With Simon Roth

In it Simo’s showing some ZBrush basics which may help out in your project. I’m sure he wouldnt’ mind at all looking at what you are doing.

Here’s a really good source for Anatomy Reference:

Anatomy Atlases

and here is a page of skulls:

The large image is an image map, so click on individual images to be linked to a larger image.

Also, definitely check out this thread for useful Anatomy Resources:
