finally upgraded to new pc.now i can do 3d too but first i need to stop playing gears of war hahaha.i dont hav PS right nowso my workshop entry is stuck i guess i’l finish it soon if it makes in time then good else i’l continue later…some sketches for now

hithis is my first time working in zbrush.very cool software.i was working on this model for some office work but i went in more detail then required and scared the texture artist :argh: .so i haad to remove all details but well this is all mine now so i thot i’l show off my first zbrush attempt…not bad i think…btw its not complete i’l finish it soon bit by bit

i just had to try it.i cudnt resist it.i finally tried to draw with ms paint and honestly even tho the first attempt sucks i found a different kind of joy in it.so u will see alot of pixel art here now

deepam: its an interesting question…even tho i do 3d modelling as my job, it is drawing that im concentrating on…if your drawing is strong everything else is cake.

this is an idea i had in mind since i started doing 3d modelling.i will be making a 3d bust of India’s great freedom fighter, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, also called Lion of Punjab.personally i consider him to be my idol and hav been always fascinated by him(as im called many times by his name,due to resemblense of moustach).this project is little difficult for me since i hav only 1 image that too not in very good resolution…so i request all of you to give me tips that would help me realise this tribute.here im posting one of the first images of the model and reference image

im back an as i promised to myself i strarted on just completed ofwd workshop from where i left it.i was reading the practice and science of drawing by harold speed today.it has really shaken the foundation on which ofwd is based in my view (it was written in 1917 so u cant reject it lik its by some new guy)but i still want to finish this cause it can add up as a nice piece for my portfolio

Well, first of all, you could post your images smaller. I really don’t see the need to post the this big. Not going over 800 pixels in width/height works well.
Now on to the work. You’re going to sculpt the 3d head, right? Well then I’m sure you know you should get rid of all triangles and n-sided faces to ease the sculpting.
Eager to see where this goes.
Speedies could use some more work I think but maybe that’s just kind of an anime-ish style, but looks a little flat.

Hey lookin good!
With the wireframe I would second what razz said. It’s not only good to avoid tris and ngons but also verts that unite 5 or more edges. Are you going to put this into zbrush? If you make your edgeloops run in the direction of muscle masses then your definition goes up. Like the muscle that runs from the ear to the bottom of the throat, jaw etc. You could retopo a sculpt to do this if you are planning on using displacement.

hey all
it has been very long since i visited here.there were lot of factors involved in my absence,work and other,so after a very long creative slump i’m starting my journey again and i hope u’l give me support and crits to improve my work.
i’l jumpstart this thread again with this new work.the character is called Akali.he is a skih warrior.an above middle age guy but experienced in his craft …i will produce a full body charater of akali soon (not in same design tho…)

will start adding stuff soon again
