Sketchbook Thread of Juraj

My first posts in my new sketchbook…
I’m trying to start draw seriously for about a year  , but somehow didn’t get the right touch yet… :banghead:
These are some sketches made from 11.06.2006 till now. I’m not able to draw every day, because of work, or just because I’m lazy and other things… but I’m trying to do at least 1-2 drawing pro week.

This is my first try:

Date: 11.06.2006, about 20.00 GMT+1

and then came this:

…and now looks something like this:

Thanks a lot for a watch…

Looking forward for comments… see ya.

Hi Duro,

Welcome. Good to see your work here, and I want to encourage you to continue to draw and to continue to refine your skills. A major tool is life drawing as you are doing, and the other thing I highly recommend doing is to do Master Copies - check out this resource which I hope will be useful:

Master Copy Resources
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=200&t=354836

I think that if you choose a master to study - for example, Michelangelo, Rubens, or any artist of your choice (Renaissance artists are highly recommended because of their mastery of form) - and copy their works in pencil / charcoal / ballpoint pen etc. - you will learn so much faster than just by doing life studies only. Take a look around at what others are doing here, for example, wasker, razz, etc. and you will see that many are doing studies from anatomy books which are really helping them to improve.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Cheers,

-Rebeccak
