Hi Magdalena. Needless to say how wonderful is your work  . I was looking at your work and the original piece, and here are a pair of comments

In the original piece, the column (just behind his left arm) seems to be supporting a huge stress in trying to sustain such a pose.

I would say that the contracted muscles of the right leg should make it more thick than the left one.

I wonder what are you looking for in this work. Are you looking for a more dramatic result?

Best regards.

P.D. Looking forward to see those shots

Hey Jtico good points there! :buttrock: - I appreciate the imput!

I agree about that right leg - still need to work on it…

to answer your question - no idea hehe… just going with the flow here which probably isn’t the smartest thing but oh well…:argh:

trying to get the hang of materials and rendering in zbrush… here’s one of the matcaps I’ve come up with to get the look I want for the sculpture… not done yet… still putting the hands off… worked on them a bit but not much… playing around with a bronze cast from rough clay look on the legs too… just experimenting in general! Cheers

Great stuff as always there! You got the hang of bronze. Maybe you could play a little bit with the distribution of the corrotion? Have more in some spots and less elsewhere? Just to keep things even more interesting?

Keep rockin’

#1005

Hi vaaken - well it’s almost impossible to make it look good with different colorations without the use of a texture… I want to do something different though - paint him using colorize option but painting with different shades of the bronze material hence all the experiments

here’s a rough idea - just painted it quickly + also worked the hands a bit more…

Mini-David Bowie from Labyrinth. And now this new bronze boy…there’s a definite ball twiddling trend.

razz thanks  yeah It’s supposed to be 2d hehe — the model I used had only a very rough texture on it [basically a projected photo LOL] and then I went to town with some nice photoshop brushes and layers  lots of fun! I have to say I really like the way one can use quick 3d models for 2d concepts - it took almost no time to make.

Glenn - thank you :D:bounce:

Johan - thank you very much!!

samarcbz - cheers!

Sabrina - thank you  I think the colours are my fav part of it too

well something I cooked up today - I’ve spent much of this holiday break just sketching instead of modeling… started this little doodle today based on this small picture of a sculpture I had stacked up somewhere on my drive and eventually got a bit carried away with it and spend a few hours on it - turned out kinda flat and I got bored half way through the legs  but I enjoyed the process!.. I wanted to use mostly a square brush [but did use a bit of the regular roundish] and b&w on this

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!! HAVE A CREATIVE 2008!
