Hi M.

Been a while since I dropped by here… but wow… apparantly I missed a lot again!
Do you sculpt these after other sculptures or are they from imagination?
Either way these are incredibly impressive!

I’m glad I finally took the time to take a peep
Take care,
J

Hey

popped in to see how things are going with rollergirl
nice torsos though  The top one has a nice colouring, not quite wood, like you said - but with a bronze-like feel about it

take care

a

#683

thanks everyone for the kind words!

Johann - the cowboy was based roughly on a sculpture, the Indian was just from some photos of different chiefs… put together a bit

Well I’ve taken 3 evenings off - to recharge my batteries… decided I needed some time without 3d… not too much though

so I got back to him today… not much done - just some stuff on the back… more to come later but I thought I’d update to show I am still on him :scream:

#684

another tiny update …

#685

Woop - wow wow! Nice stuff Magda, as usual! Can’t wait to see how you finish this.

#686

Hey! Awesome! Very nicely done:applause:… just watch out for that rectus abdominis… looks like it has slid down a notch, together with the umbilicus. … I mean the navel now appears to be at the level of the iliac crest… it should line up with the bottom of the rib-cage.

#687

thanks guys

Anand - cheers! It’s not as high as you said but you’re right I made it way too low… sheesh lots to correct still and the hand’s waiting to be finished too… blah :scream:

a teeny-weeny update…

#688

It looks great! I rigged mine finally, waiting on a render of it. How many polys is this? I hope I can make a more accurate displacement and color map with zbrush 3.0.

#689

Wow, you’ve got some great stuff here! :scream:

I’ve only just been introduced to 3D modelling in school and it’s quite hard, haha. Maybe i’ll learn something here from you.

Keep it up!

#690

Womball - thanks! funny I’ve been playing around with this beta for some time but haven’t tried doing the maps yet :surprised… must try…

jurffy - I’m glad you like  thanks for visiting!

well I call this dude done - I’m sick of it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and haven’t had time to work on him these past days either…

#691

Wow! Awesome finish! If the default shaders are this good in ZBrush3, then I suppose I can just forget all the troubles of making normal maps, setting up the render in maya and all that crap!! Great!:bounce: Just waiting to get my hands on it!!

#692

Hm… only now I just realize it’s this arm I’ve been drawing at school last night (will post tonight)

Small world hehe

Great model M.

#693

Thanks very much Anand  Yes when I first used the off-white shader I thought you might like it  I’ve started working on a new little bust yesterday, just to round up the beta testing period, and I am using it all the time… it has a little sss feel to it… really like it… The bronze thing is not the shader per se… it’s the red shader + photoshop trickery

Johan - hehe, yep them anatomy books… well I used the Freedom of Teach images most of all but I do admit to jumping around more references ;D Thanks a lot!

#694

Hey Magdalena, the final bronze image looks great! The off white shader looks good too, hmm I might have to try it out for my own studies. Minor crit on the anatomy, the trapezius from the back view looks a bit sunk in, or deflated in certain areas. Since the right arm is raised, wouldn’t the back of the right deltoid be compressed making it bulge out more? It also looks like the scapula is missing, I think that even a hint at the spine of the scapula would add a lot.

I know you said you were done with him, he looks good as is. So unless what I said really bugs you, I’d say leave it.

When are you going to show us the next bust?

#695

Hey Magdalena:bounce:i really like the presentation of your work:)Wonderful…a great base for that statue combined with awesome bronze shader look:thumbsup:

#696

Hi Magdalena, you made some great new modells! Very impressive!

#697

Woop, very nicely done! And I love the moody blue lighting.

#698

Joel - I agree about them muscles… but…nah…I’m too lazy and I’ve said goodbye to this one
as to the bust - I’ll show it to ya over the weekend… it’s an experiment of sorts  so I have to keep going from zbrush to xsi a bit on level 1 to adjust stuff…

CgIcecube - thank you! I’m glad you like it

batte812 - thanks

Rebeccak - thanks a lot! Glad you like

#699

here’s the new bust - just started the sculpting today [base model is simple… had to remove quite a few edges to allow for that vail sculpting] - about 3 hrs worth… [this is just a screen capture] I’m hoping to finish it during the weekend…
It’s not a copy of any particular sculpture - I’m just referencing a few vailed ladies out there [seems the victorians liked those :)]

Creapy! Here fingers look too thin.

As for the muscle study, QUITTER! If you spent as much time as I have on it, it would be like 10x better than mine! I’m not at your skill level or speed yet.
