Sketchbook Thread Of Ha-dou-ken - 2D/3D

Thanks Johan. I watch Bobby religously, I forgot about his topics though:eek:
I don’t know where my head was at, eeh.

I want to define the essence of a subject. That’s what I’m looking for niw, so that I can apply it to everything I see. There’s a great book called “The Zen of Seeing” I bought recently and I havee yet to read it through. I think that will help me gain perspective.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll get some more developed work up soon.

Hi…Isaias…

LOL…I don’t have TIME NOW… NOW IS …NOW IS this MOMENT your living in…LIVE in the NOW MOMENT that IS…MOMENTS past, an illussion of memory, and the future MOMENT, has yet to be CONCIEVED…THERE IS ONLY …NOW that IS …:scream: …Should be a great painting in those words I
THINK…:scream:   …Maybe a painting of you throwing your clock out of the window…:scream:
JUST HAVING …FUN…with words and thoughts…
I agree with Johan…but when in dought, do it all, IF YOU CAN FIND THE …TIME…THAT… IS.:bounce:

P.S…DRAWING AND PAINTING SHOULD BE APROACHED THE SAME WAY…CREATIVELY…
HAVE A GREAT DAY…Isaias, and…
TAKE CARE
Glenn

Hi ha-dou-ken…
Great to see your progress thru these pages… that hand study is really sweet.:applause: … looking forward to a lot more amazing stuff…!

#65

Hey, Hadouken. Read what you and Glenn were talking about painting speedpaints or pushing one piece further and I really have only few words to say, first work on getting better, then on getting faster. These few words answered my quetions to that topic, hope they’ll help you too

Hi

great paintings here - I especially like the portrait of your friend - really nice mood to it! And I can totally empathize with starting pictures and not being able to force yourself to refine them LOL…

Thanks for the looks Anand, heh.Compliments are so weird when I get them…thank you. You are incredible. Really! Not human, but incredible.(I swear you are a robot from the planet Arto…) Stay tuned for more.

Razz, I sometimes feel that searching for a style s soon is a bit premature and even egotistical. I have yet to master the basics, but it seems that not many people ever truly do. At least absolutely. So many options and so little time…I still appreciate the advice. Words to live by, not only in art but in life in general I think.

Magdalena, heheh, thanky. I like my friend too. She’s hot! I’m going to crank out some more paints tonight after a few rounds of Street fighter with my friends. Time to kick ass!:scream:

Hi…Isaias…

I like the last one…hot cold temperature experiment…A great way to learn the power of color, is to study the optical movement of the 60’s…OP ART…Seeing thier work, might help with idea’s for future experiments…you can always go further…when learning from the past…
I also really like your Last Samurai General…:applause:
Wonder what he would look like if placed on a layer of the same color as your bottom color piece.
maybe surrounded by cherry tree blossoms…with the rising sun or yellow over his far shoulder.
Maybe a little of that cool blue used in the shadows of the cherry blossoms.
Color as a symbol…
KEEP EXPERIMENTING, and let one IDEA MORPH INTO ANOTHER…KEEP YOUR IMAGINATION FREE, AND IT WILL LEAD YOU ON YOUR JOURNY…

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE

Hi Glenn. Thank you for th input as always. I really like your ideas for the Last Samuai one. That guy has sooo much character. I wonder why sepia tones fit him so nicely.Maybe it represents his weary values and worn beliefes. The same way sepias are worn impressions of colors. Faded…

I am going to try some more right now  Oh yeah, I’ going to do some research on the 60’s art you were talking about. That’s why I love the style of The Incredible I think…

I like the kinda brown monochromatic one, the samurai guy? Looks cool. Well, it’s warm, but cool, you know. Nice to see these speedpaints and you pushing your imaginational painting skills.

Is it the finish of the last speedpaint posted? It asks for more

#78

Thanks Razz, I’m just exploring in space so to speak with these speedpaints heh.

That last one was a bit underdone. REALLY quick to see if I could creat a sense of scope. I was listening to Coldplay…I dunno haha. More soon!

Mech’s PDF series on anatomy got me all worked up to paint the human people again haha. A break from all the subpar speedpaints. this is still a WIP, but It’s ok as a study. the wierdest thing occured to me while painting…I ACTUALLY understood what the hell I was doing! I wasn’t just copying what I saw, but pronouncing muscles with confidence and fixing mistakes without even looking at the reference. I felt so in control! So cool. there a 1,000,000 errors but the feeling of confidence was a great rush. I felt like GOD for a second. I think I just elveled up a bit. this was 1.5 hrs. more tonight when get home from school!

Hi…Isaias…
GREAT to see you getting into those models in the photo’s…Will learn a lot about painting the figure, from painting them for sure.
You know, as you do them, …you can also play around with them, in your paintings from your imagination…will make those imaginings that much better…That’s the way I got the best from both worlds, so to speak…throughout the beggining of my thread.
You can always use them in a fantasy color scape, like the one you posted yesterday…yellows and oranges, with a piece of blue…ect…
If you have time, and want to, take a look at the first few pages of my sketchbook // anatomy thread, to get a better idea about what I mean…just used a couple of layers, to creat fantasies using the figures from the photo’s, for better realism in the fantasy…
Take a peek,…might give you a new idea…you never know…
NICE PROGRESS…KEEP GOING…PLEASURE SEEING IT…
