kdsh7, anandpg, nr43 - thanks guys!
simple pencil - I may do more on it later (cleanup & corrections)

Gord
this one is done for a great thread over at drawingboard - for caricaturists to do caricatures of other caricaturists (or in my case a wanna-be)

Gord
Heya Gord,
Good to see you posting again.
I like your caricatures, you’ve always had a way with portraits!
What I would love to see you do are more finished pieces, like digital versions of your lovely early pencil portraits - have you ever seen the work of David Kassan? He’s an excellent oil painter in NY:
I think you could do lovely finished digital pieces, would love to see you refine these!
Cheers,
-Rk
nr43 and razz - thanks! - colour is definitely on the not too distant agenda.
becca - I am in a pre letsgetsomereallyambitiousworkdone phase - mentally preparing for some deep stuff. Thanks for dropping by!
Kassan has some very serious skills/talent - I love his work - thanks for the link.
Gord
Great Caricatures! I’d like to see more figures too. Your faces capture the likeness of the person. I think this can be done by the body too.
HEY…Gord…

You really know how to pick some great faces and run with them…
THANKS FOR MAKING ME LAUGH…
Your serious side, is also really getting GREAT…![]()
REAL PLEASURE SEEING THESE… GORD

this drawing is a mere sketch, but making it was a powerful experience - I want to a much more complete drawing from the source image.
I look at the source image and feel sadness and horror, but also (somehow) connected to the person. I would like to know who she was, where she came from, her name, her childhood, family, friends…
I would like to see photos of her in happier times. I would like to know more about her.
She is to me enigmatic - like the couragous individual who stood before a column of tanks in Tiamin Sqaure, or the man who was photographed falling from the WTC in 9/11.
These images are horrific, but if approached with sensitivity enable us to reach a deeper sense of compassion for our fellow humans.

Hey Gord, good to see you on the anatomy forums. I didn’t catch your thread on here until now just now. You really have a way with portraits, keep them coming! ![]()
