I admire your perseverance. Your progress is obvious, and a great encouragement for beginners like myself. Thanks !

Erich,

Great to see how much you are pushing yourself! Lots of great studying going on here, that is taking you closer to your goals.

I would love to see you loosen up your line work eventually and do more gestural studies. I can’t recall if you had gotten Vilppu’s Gesture DVD but I really think you would enjoy it. I think drawing a bit larger and with a medium over which you have less control actually helps you to do better drawings. An especially good exercise for this is doing the timed 2, 5, and 15 minute drawings. Take a look at PixelColada’s thread to see what I mean - he even has 1 minute drawings. That’s the kind of thing I think you would really benefit from, even if you use photo reference to do them - it’s really been helping me lately to do a lot of these short format drawings to get a gestural, loose feel.

Cheers and keep up the hard work! :slight_smile:

@thx Rebekka :slight_smile:

i own the gesture DVD. Right now, the studies are aimed for surface patterns and anatomy (muscles etc…) only. I have already two of the virtual pose books, and will start to concentrate more on the gesture / poses in a few weeks.

thx again :slight_smile:

HEY…Erich…:thumbsup:

GREAT STUDIES…:slight_smile:
Kind of glad to see that you are getting away from the muscle bound look in the guys/frozen pose look…not a trap that you want to fall into, and a hard one to get out of, once your in it…:scream:
REALLY enjoying all of your studies…great way to learn and develope…will pay off big time, when you put your figures into compositions…KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK…Erich…:thumbsup:
TAKE CARE
Glenn

This works amazing. I can’t believe those anatomy plates. There identical to the ones i have in the book lol. Really good work.

What course did you enroll on? I think i know which one it might be but i can’t remmeber the name and i might want to enroll on it myself when it re-runs.

Great stuff,
