Good to see your new studies Erich. I need to figure out a way to demo traditional techniques because there are some things which are just better seen than talked about. If you watch Vilppu’s DVDs I think that might be a good key to your loosening up in your studies and getting the mass conception down a bit more fluidly. As always, your work ethic is inspiring.
thx Rebecca
i own his first DVD (gesture). i think i would need the square or circle DVD for understanding the masses better, or which one would you recommend?
Demos of traditional techniques would be very very cool. Hope you will find a way soon
I did these quick studies for getting a better understanding of the muscles of the back (covered by skin and fat). The patterns never look the same, but slowly i see things repeating, and how certain muscles / muscle groups interlock etc…interesting.
Hi Erich,
this one…
…is just beautiful.
the warm colors, the limited focal area, the strict composition…
Simply beautiful.
You keep amazing me!
About your drawings… they only look a bit scribbly because it seems you are rushing the shading. I’m sure if you would take your time you could perfectly make drawings that look finished. .
Since you’re a painter (I think) at heart, I wouldn’t worry about it
@NR43
thx a lot
and you’re right, i’m rushing them, because my goal is a better understanding of the muscles and their basic patterns, so i only want to spend the right amount of time per study…and that’s not much. perhaps 15 to 25 minutes.
