some scribbles

I like the girl painting a lot. I think it turned out very well. There are some minor tweaks that could be done, but as a speedpaint - great job!
Erich,
I agree with razz, the painting of the girl is nice, and a nice departure from your other work. Looking forward to seeing more progress in this direction.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
thx. perhaps i’ll work a bit more on it, but i’d like to keep the loose style.
@Rebecca
think i will do some more…but theres a lot of other stuff i should do also…

Hi Erich,
I am surprised about your painter sketches, especially face08 has a very great impression of an innocent but sexy young lady. I could imagine this kind of picture combined with your another stuff, perhaps something like a victim of a vampire, having a sad but innocent look.
Go on this way, I like it a lot!
Ciao,
Ellie
thx Ellie. i think i will make some other exercises in that direction, when i find the time.
i think i don’t think enough in volume or roundness while i’m drawing…

Erich,
I may have mentioned this before, but I think buying at least one Vilppu DVD (perhaps the first one?) might really help with the crucial missing piece which is thinking in terms of roundness.
Also I think that drawing larger, and perhaps focusing on occasion on one body part, say for example a leg, will really help in this regard.
I look forward to seeing your updates ~ as always, your output is prolific, which is great to see.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
thx Rebecca, will think about that
i’m actally working on this piece. the blue is too dominat right now…

Heiligemariamuttergottes.
Donnerknispel.
erm, you have made some progress…kindalike…sort of…
Hi Erich,
I think the ear of the right woman is a bit height. And there is something weird with the bottom margin, but still don’t have an idea how to fix the problem.
If this would be a book cover, lol, the solution would be easy. But a nice picture, and as always: fast and furious. A second “Donnerknispel” from Hamburg, hehe.
Ciao,
Ellie
had not much time in the last few months to feed this thread.
scribbles after ref.

Hi, Erich.
I had not seen your thread. It’s unfortunate that so many of the images are missing (at least they are for me). This last batch is really nice. One of the faces looks like one of the actors from Underworld. Nice sketches.
Cris
thx Criss, and you’re right
This was the Lucien character from Underworld. All studies are based on screen captures from certain movies.
Missing Pictures: my vault…i cleaned up my webspace some months ago, and messed things up. So i lost a bunch of exercises.
Hi there. I participated a lot of workshops in the last months and worked on my folio etc. Didn’t had much time, but i will do a next Masterstudy-round now, that hopefully will push me up the ladder a bit
some stuff of the last months.

I based this sketch on a rough scribble done before
and some rough scribbles

forgot some enviros

Concerning my thread:
I looked through it, and the pics start at page 15. Like i said, i messed up my webspace some months ago…sorry for that.
HEY…Erich…:applause: ![]()
Looks like you’ve been busy…
…Those paintings are turning out GREAT:thumbsup:
Developeing a nice style there…

Really looking forward to seeing MORE…
TAKE CARE
Glenn
thx a lot Glenn
my drawings or scribbles still suck. That doesn’t matter that much while painting, but ok, have to do something against this weakness, i think
cheers

HEY…Erich…
That last painting shines…really nice work…full of atmosphere…great depth…BEAUTIFUL…![]()
Don’t be too hard on yourself when it comes to your drawings…they are just a means to an end, which is the painting…
I have been neglecting my drawing for a few years now…LOL…I’m taking a life drawing class
with live models …starting the 16th of this month… can hardly wait to see how bad my drawings turn out in that first class…should be interesting and amusing if nothing else…
But as they say,…PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT…WE WILL SEE…LOL :buttrock:
TAKE CARE
Glenn
thx Glenn.
i had two life drawing courses in the last month. For me, that’s just a part of the whole picture (practicing from references, master drawings, photographs, from life, make things up etc…). Some guys swear that life drawing is the best and only way for them to get better in drawing, but i think that depends on the individual. Everybody learns differently
I hope it will push you foreward.
Before i do some MasterStudies i will go through some photo references to make some things clear for myself.
First round of male backs (quick studies):

I have lots of work to do, but i hope to be able to do at least a few studies a day.
