Yeah, I admit it. i totally failed on the menacing front.
Note to self: Must try harder next time…

Nah, I don’t think failure is in any way involved here.
If you tweaked him digitally, it would be easier to change him to make him look more menacing, if that was what you wanted.

Perhaps I should just tell my MA group that this is the beast as portrayed only moments after a good nights sleep??.
I don’t know if you have seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but:
“Bloody hell!! - that rabbit’s dynamite!!” comes to mind.
He can be really mean when he wants to be, basically speaking…
MIKE
OMG, I LOVE Monty Python!
Though I haven’t seen it in years.
Keep up the good work, Mike!

Yo Mike
Sterling work here, I’m loving the mantis mech, and the beast is really nicely done. Although it is distinctly lacking in menace.
“whats he building in there”>> a relatively harmless, quite amiable herbivore, with the manner of a Hindu cow, what a lovely man.
Just kidding, I agree with RK, recon you could soon make it scary. Most dogs look quite amiable until they snarl at you and bear their fangs (happens to me a lot for some reason) and then they’re bloody terrifying!
LOL mate, that just about sums “the beast” up… (I based his demeanor on you - wouldn’t you know it?!!
)
Happy Birthday bloke >>> 25 OMG!! As REM sang; “It’s the end of the world as we know it - and I feel fineeeeeeeeeee… LOL.”
MIKE
OH NO!!! dont mention that:scream:, I’ll be 50 before I know it… ARRRGGGGGHHH…
at least I always know that I’ll always be slightly younger than you, which gives me some pleasure!
What’s this??? Sardonic Englishmen age? :curious:
Happy Birthday, AOAH…when it’s Mike’s turn here, be sure to let me know so that I can send him my best wishes muahahahaha!
Cheers,

Thank you Gonzalo for the positive words.
I notice you have an anatomy thread to, so I’m going to check it out now…
MIKE
Your creature from skeleton to muscle to skin is totally impressive! Really nice work. What a fantastic exercise too.
Default. Rol // Mike…WOW…:bounce:
Really likeing your critters…
Asian DRAGON HORNS on that saber toothed one might look nice, pointing toward back.
Might add to the flow and motion of your great design…just a thought…
Don’t forget the barbed spikes on your mantis claws. Those are what hold it’s pray in
place, while it devours whatever it has captured…always head first…used to feed
them bugs when I was a kid…would take them to school, put string like a leash around their neck…used to freak the girls out LOL …
Take Care
Glenn
@Amerasu - Thank you for the kind words. It is something I would never have attempted before undertaking Becca’s anatomy workshop, as I wouldn’t have even known where to start. So I must credit her with giving me the foundation to do it.
@Spirit Dreamer - I am such a big fan of your work! Thank you for the advice on the mantis - I saw my first wild ones in the High Atlas mountains in Morocco. And they were really cool to look at, so i figured they would make a decent mech.
Thank you for the feedback guys

Awww…thanks Mike.
I’ve been snickering at your signature, btw.

Becks
There was this mad article about Mr.T on MSN a few days back… something about him being the voice for an in-car navigation company… that made me laugh as much as his “top 30 facts” …
MIKE
LOL…I was wondering where you come up with this stuff.
Some of just have talent, I suppose.
Cheers,

Haven’t you seen the “top 30 facts about…” Becks? Here is the link:
