Sketchbook Thread of default-rol

Well guys,

She pesterd me, she begged, she cried… and finally I relented  to show what I did on RebeccaK’s Super Brilliant “Drawing on the Past” CGWorkshop :scream: . All I can say is that you all know how much she batters these forums with comment, hints and tips for FREE??? Well, take a group of 20 students and give her some cash for her time and watch as she goes into the stratosphere!! ROFL.

I have a grey streak down the side of my head, (like Ash in “Evil Dead 2”) from the shock!!

Seriously, she was brilliant (as you would expect) and the course was worth every last penny. She is going to be doing another course in the near future I think, and I recommend those of you with enough time and the spare funds to get a place when you can… before I do.

I will be there - I’m pretty sure of that.

Well done BeccaK - YOU’RE A STAR! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Muscle structure.

#4

More muscle structure…

My attention will now be devoted to drawing heads with greater skill, and in proportion with the body. Watch this space for updates…

Mike,

Despite your constant ribbing of *teacher* you were a tremendous asset to the course, and it would not have been the same without you! It's amazing to think how well I've gotten to know you since the first free Anatomy Review, and it has been great to see your tremendous progress and hard work throughout the duration of the Workshop, despite personal setbacks that might cause someone else to stop. Thanks for your tremendous good humor, hard work, dedication, and the sheer talent you contributed to this Workshop. I must say, "You're a star!" But seriously, you've become a friend, and I highly appreciate all of your efforts and dogged determination to improve your already good work. :)

 Best,

 ~Rk

Some leg muscles…

#10

My, what nice legs you have!

Great stuff, as per usual, Mr. Rollinson.

#11

why “thank you” Miss. Kimmel :scream: - I copied yours…

#12

Don’t you mean, ‘Sir’? :scream:

#13

It is true that you appear to have very masculine legs for a female - judging by the reference you supplied!! LOL. It must have been the lighting… :scream:

Snarfs back tears of laughter and pain
That’s an amazing collection you have there, Mike. :applause:

Cheers,

Those are some really nice studies. The cleaniness of your line is boggling because it seems almost inhuman to be that exact! I don’t think I could ever achieve that level with my line work. Great stuff.

#16

Hey, lots of cool studies from Dr. Paul Richer!
I study a lot from his book too:)

#17

@Jinnseng

Thank you for the kind words. Because of my line style I struggle to gesture sketch, as I just can’t let go and be free. But it seems to work out fine for more detailed studies such as these.

@Thomasphoenix

I never believed that I would learn anything about human anatomy until I did Rebecca’s drawing course as it is usually presented too dry for my taste. These plates were quite beautiful to look at from an artistic standpoint, and so I really enjoyed actually re-creating them. It was great to get under the skin, and I look forward to improved lifedrawing skills as a result.

Cheers guys

MIKE

More arms…

#19

Gah!!! Darn Helen Keller mode!

Cheers,

That’s funny because I like to work more gesturally and loathe doing the detail work. My sketches have crazy lines going all over the place and then I slowly refine it down. We need to both need to find that happy medium I guess. Keep up the good work.
