Sketchbook Thread of Cisc0

I am with NR, I too would like to see some longer studies. I like your lady character. Good work on the material.

#42

this first two are 5 monthes old: acrylic on canvas the first and the second one is an acrylic on cartoon.

And this is a sketch I did this morning during a conference I went with my class… I was bored by a politic man that was talking, so I took a little picture of “him”. It’s not so similar to him, but I had fun

#43

I see that your sketches are on a consistent theme for the most part. The patterns around the figures tie them all together. Are these for a collection or a book? Please post some figure studies. Tons of great figures on the OFDW index here. Start from OFDW 4. The previous ones aren’t up anymore. You can also check out the photosets on this great site here. Oh, what type of ink did you use on the laminil?

#44

unfortunatly my figures aren’t for a book (I’m just a little student of the high school). On laminil I used ecoline ink (diluted with water if needed). I think that I must post some more real life studies too… we’ll see

Quick sketch for today.

Hi there,

you have such a great sense of flow and gesture, the twists and the tension of the torsos are really fantastic. Your linework is just beautiful.

I do, however, think you should invest a bit of time in careful studies from reference (photos are OK, the sketchathon is a great pool of reference) just to reinforce a deeper knowledge of structure and proportions.

Keep it up - it’s a joy to browse through this thread!

Sketches for a project at school (again the quality isn’t so high and the white paper looks really darker -.-… I’m not a good photographer)

Master Sketches and copies of my dummy:

#51

Heh funny to see that dummy in the last image. I have one just like it in the same pose on the shelf

#52

I don’t use it often, but it’s always a good idea to practice with it if I don’t know what to do.

Oh if I often don’t answere to your comments guys excuse me, I really appreciate your support and your critiques. Thanks to all for giving to me a little piece of your time :bounce:

#53

I like the mastercopies…

Watch out for opposing curves on the arms of that Moses (that was Michelangelo wasn’t it?)

Are you going to to push them further?

#54

Yes it was Michelangelo and for the second question I don’t know… probably not

#55

I think it would really make a difference! Your linework is actually very strong, it has a unique touch to it. I would love to see an equally strong treatment of values!

Mastercopies can take you very far for both aspects. Right now, you left that Michelangelo right where your comfort zone ends (or at least where it probably ends judging only from the things you posted…).

*does a little motivation dance…

:bounce:

#56

thanks Mu! I know that I must pass that “line”… I can do it when I’m at school and I need to finish my works, but if I’m alone I usually leave the works very far from the end; because I don’t have enough motivation or because I start something new (I’m also toooo lazy). I’ll try to “force” myself in that way

Model’s copies from school:

#58

Nice sketches! I like all those interesting elements you add.

Btw, if you take pictures of your sketches and they turn out dark, you can quickly adjust it in photoshop. ctrl+shift+L for auto level, or ctrl+L to do it manually.

Are those last life drawings watercolor? I really like the 2nd one.

#59

Thanks for the advice Heozart! The last two have all this medias: coloured pencils, watercolors, acrylic (for the gray background of the first and for the highlights) and a little of pen (for the second one)

Cool watercolors. I am assuming this was done during your warm up sketches?
