Sketchbook Thread of BadG3r

#1

Hey everyone.

Since I was always overwhelmed by 2d-artists and envied their abilitiy of previz I decided to build up a traditional background myself… I ordered the book by Betty Edwards and started yesterday my first sketch. Last time I sketched was at the age of 7 drawing characters from comicbooks (mickey, goofy, …)

So, had a great time yesterday and will continue this and post every once and a while. please c&c the sketches since i don’t know what Im doing.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could test and have fun by letting the light hit be white (the paper is white) and darken where you see the shadows are blocked? The more the light gets blocked, the more darker you draw there :), hope it helps!

Hi there
great start! It’s really wise to draw things from real life… beats any photograph (imho)

Keep sketching on a daily basis and you’ll be flying in no time

Also,
check out The beginners lounge, which has a bunch of great things to get you started

Have fun creating!
