it took me a while but now im here and im here to stay and improve myself and if im capable assist others as well.

So this one took me about 7 min’s and was done with fiber tipped inkpen. After i finished i noticed that the knees are way off, but since she is under so much cloth it does not bother me too much. I just needet something to seal my commitmen to this thread… that is the purpus of this image.

P.S it is great to be here, i think you will be seeing me a lot from now on during 1,5 years or so…need to be in good shape when graduation arrives.

Arlekin,

I think it might be really useful to look at reference for this, there’s really no shame in it. Also I would recommend doing studies of the underlying bone / muscles etc. from an anatomy / drawing book - do you have any? Check out the Anatomy Books thread in the References section here and you will find some good suggestions for books to look into. Lots of folks around here have done some great anatomy studies and it’s of course incredibly useful knowledge for constructing the figure. Bear in mind however that drawing principles are related to, though not necessarily the same as, anatomical knowledge. It’s necessary to do a bit of both.

I think I’d give him more of a calf on that leg he’s standing on and also make both of the lower legs longer  That’s what I ment if you don’t mind me mucking about with your image:

those are the things that jumped out at me… I love the upperbody already! the face and hair are cool!

thank you Rebecca…

yes i have some books i have most of the hogart’s book’s and few others some russian antomy for artists (or something like that, its really good although its in russian, but u dont need the language for this one anyways)

i think i should look at them… i usually do all the time but since i have learned figure drawing in school for two years already (this year is anatomy and figure, previous was portrait) so i im thinking about training myself to be able to draw human/ anatomy without any reference.

but ill take a look…it was a bit hasty of me to post before looking …i got so obsessed with the idea that i forgot i have alll kinds of ref and anatomy and figure drawing books on the shelf.

…still envying your quickness on replies…:applause:

#12

thank you intervain…

the upper body is better because i had ref for that and i have had way more practise on faces and torsos… since all we did last year in the drawing class was portraits and torsos…

thank you again… ill go and work on it now…

p.s my exams are over now…for now so i can commit myself to improvement again:)

p.p.s really cool master study you have intervain… got to try this myself …wow the drapery/dress…

Its been awhile since i have been here… but looking at some threads made me do something again… i hate not having time for everything i want to do…art school, job, digital painting…personal projects and life…i figure if i try enough …ok enough of whining…

here are some loose copies from hogart anatomy book…(figurative anatomy or smth)

plate1

plate 2

3-10 mins for each figure …after i finished i noticed i had made some mistakes …but ill try this quantity ver quality trick …ill try to do few ~30 mins sketches each day and every time ill try to improve myself and leave less and less mistakes into my pic…

my neptune (traditional media is started also… A2 paper i hope to finish it in a week)

stay vigilant…

i hope this kind of approach fuses those shapes and images into my brain so i can use em from imagination…actually if i take time, pen and paper i can draw more or less anatomically correct figure but it is from life and in my school…(can do it because i have studyed drawing for 3 years total but i had a 2 year pause in between so after the pause it has been 2 years in a row…)
Anyways the problem is that i want to do these things from my head and with ease …and it seems that it is totally different than in live drawing class… ill post some of my studies from school too …but not before tomorrow because i have to borrow a camera and shoot em in since most of them are a2.
Forexample the whole insane pose construction stuff…i need to get hang of it…
i do really hope ill manage to update this thread also …sidebyside with DSG and WIP threads…
forum is a great inspiration keeps people on track i love it…
