Here’s the final version from session 014, the Bouguereau study.

And some stuff I did this morning from Loomis.

Hi…Amerasu…

Just thought that I would stop by to tell you that I really like the job you did with the
last master copy…a hard one for sure…but you pulled it off nicely…
My favorite of yours so far though is the redhead with red background…FANTASTIC PAINTING…
Also really like those two faces you just posted…great job on those, and the gesture drawings
are also very nice…keep up the GREAT WORK…IT’S a real pleasure seeing it…

TAKE CARE

Thanks Spirit Dreamer

Here’s a 10 min head study before bed

And a painting I finished today… though on preview here, it seems her medicine bag is a little flat. Ah well… I used a ref for her face.

Foreshortening study from Loomis. Foreshortening always messes me up when I try to draw from memory.

Really nice mood to this, Amerasu! And your Bouguereau piece is fantastic! :applause: I think the study of the girl is really beautiful too, and shows how much you are advancing!

Cheers,

Thanks Rebecca

I think these dancers came from one of the 15 min sketch threads - but I spent about 30 minutes on each.

Head is a Loomis study, about 15 mins worth.

#31

Sweet christ, your Bouguereau copy is amazing. When I was scrolling through and saw your piece, I continued scrolling because I wanted to see your painting, not the original reference! Fantastic job on that one. :buttrock:

#32

Thanks a lot LoTekk! that one was a toughie

#33

Amerasu,

Congrats! I used your image for the front page plug up for the SPOTLIGHT Forum here:

Wow, thanks a lot Rebecca! That’s awesome

Hey, you’re totally welcome! I had always wished you had submitted your piece to the Gallery, so it could have received attention sooner ~ but it’s almost better this way!

Great work, you also have work in the Personal Anatomy and OFDW SPOTLIGHT threads as well. The easiest way to find SPOTLIGHT images is to run a search for your username, as I’ve of course associated everyone’s names with their work.

Great stuff!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I’ve been too busy with a new baby and then making artist trading cards, lol.

I signed up for my first life drawing class. Wow, much different than drawing people from a photo! It was very helpful and the instructor is great.

The sketchbook is way too big for my scanner so I had to take photos, hence the crappy quality. Here are the fast gesture drawings… never done these before so they’re not that hot. Practice will help.

Couple of longer poses that turned out ok

Hi,

congratz with your baby!
about your work, I donnow what to say except … wth?? you’re very skilled

btw, what are “artist trading cards”?
I hope your baby will allow you to draw, paint and post more work

#38

Thanks for the congrats and comments

Artist Trading Cards are 2.5" x 3.5" mini artworks traded between artists. They’re the same size as regular playing cards or sports collectable cards. Just a fun little side hobby now and then.

Hi…Amerasu…

Just popping in to say HI…:wavey: …and congratulations on the baby…
I quess that is a good enough excuse to be away for awhile…:scream:
Like those drawings from your life class…a whole different ball game, but looks like you are mastering it…The real thing can’t be beat I think…
Well anyway, glad you are back in the ball game, and can’t wait to see more of those life drawings…You know, you can always put them in the computer, and make fantasy scapes or whatever around them, alot of options there.
A great way to get the best out of each…traditional and digital combo’s
Just a passing thought that might be of help to you…you never know.
TAKE CARE,… AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK…

Wow ameratsu… kudos on the bougereau copy, thats fabulous… I started that one myself somwhere… you’ve inspired me to go back to it once I get the current demon off my back. And these life drawings are looking lovely, I envy you the chance to do that! If you were working left to right top to bottom on the quick drawings, I’d say you’ve improved even by the end of that page, so you’ll definitely get better! The longer poses look great too, especially the transition between the torso and pelvis on the lying down one. Lovely stuff!
