Sketchbook Thread of Adee - 3D

#1

well,i have been following this site since a while now and learnt so much from amazing work of u guys.so much that always felt that i should learn more before even starting anythin of my own .(may be an excuse:D)

so here i will try run my thread so that i can learn better by workin rather than just amazed by and push my self to work hard.

this is my first try in zbrush and my second human model(well shouldn’t really count first one ).

lookin forward to get lots of feedback and changes.his head is a bit smaller (kinda comic style)

…that’s bad @ss. Shoulders seem bit too wide. Sick nonetheless though. I will keep my eye on this thread…stalks

Nice job with the 3d model, the sculpting of the muscles is nicely done. I’d say even for the comic book style, his head is still a little on the small side. If you look at his hands and feet, in comparison, his head is very small. One measurement is that the hand should cover the features of the face, not including hair, so from chin to eyebrow, in effect. I’d say either bring the hands and feet into line, and maybe tweak the size of the shoulders… or just make the head a little bigger? But good work thus far aside from that. Keep it up!

adee09,

Welcome! I am sure that you will greatly benefit from the advice of our 3D folks here like anandpg, Intervain, claybub, Thomasphoenix, Womball, and more.

I have some suggestions for your model if you don’t mind a paintover. Just let me know if you would like one since it is easier for me to show things that way, but I don’t do them without permission.

Looking forward to following your progress here! It would be nice if you told us something about your background, training, and goals.

Cheers,

-Rebeccak

Hi Pradeep!.. Welcome…! great to see another 3D guy!:bounce: Your model is coming up nicely… there are some issues with the proportion… Rebecca’s paint over will help you get it right, so I wont comment on it now… Also, check out Doctor Bone’s thread… he has great way of dividing the body and setting out the bony landmarks… real awesome stuff!!.. check it out before you start sketching.

btw, in which part of India is “Hisar”?

[left]Hi there,

Apologies for the late reply. Here is a paintover which I hope helps:

[left]Also have you seen this thread? I think it might come in handy when sculpting heroic forms:

The paintover is just a suggestion, and by no means are they ‘correct’. Hope it helps!

thank u anand.

just strated to following ur thread a month back, really a disappointment for me that i missed it when i was in bangalore.(was there in paprikaas,i am sure u know) would have like to meet u and get some advise.:banghead:

surely not late, this would be the best platform for me.Well Hisar is a small town in haryana about 3 hrs drive from New delhi.

i do need an advise about posing charachter.as i tried to figure out most people use displacement maps for maya mesh and than pose it there.i wonder how u do it for maya.as u said zphere r just for quick modelling(will try that, guess best way to learn).

rebecca,

thanks a lot for the paintover, this will definetly help.as for proportion i was really curious about the use of different head measurement used like 7, 8 !/2 ,or 10 heads

#10

here r some updates …nothin major just some proportion ,thanks to rebecca

head looks still on the smaller size although it is about 8 1/2 heads.will do small changes but won’t do much ,has a crapy mesh.but still let me know the problems here so that i can keep in mind next time.(know would me difficult to write that much :D)

so i was lookin for suggestion what should i work on, like some sketches, concentrate on specific parts in zbrush quick modelling.I know have do to everything but just to start with.

#11

tried my hand in sketching…didn’t came out well but had nothin much to update (was out for few days),anyway will come handy in watching my progress :D.

these r not mine, saw here and there (hope won’t step into trouble)
