Hi, I’m currently working on my final project and is animating a walk cycle for my first full character I’ve ever made in Maya. I based it on one pic I saw of a low poly model. I have also tweaked with the weight mapping some so the arm wouldn’t mess with the mesh’s torso too much.
However, the problem is that, my skeleton seems to just not moving despite having set key frame on my skeleton when I tried to animate the walk cycle. I’m just not sure what’s going on.
I seem to have skinned everything just right for me to at least be able to start animating. I am able to alter the mesh’s pose with the skeleton. I tried to use the “S” key to set keyframes for the arm for a test animation. I keyframed the original pose at frame one then raised the arm and keyframed it for frame 30. when I scrubbed the timeline back to frame one, it remain at the latest pose that I’ve set the mesh to regardless of the keyframing. I’m getting frustrated with this as this is due on wednesday 5 PM and I have one other project expecting to consume a lot of time. I’m hoping that this is a simple mistake that I’ve made somewhere that’s easy to fix or at least that someone here can point me to a good tutorial or solution to this delimma.
I’m using Maya 2010 on my PC and the school’s MAC.
Thanks
P.S. Unfortunately, I’m a new poster here so I cannot post my MB file or images, i think.
