Site check, plz

Okay, so the portfolio part is really not done yet :banghead: - the 2D stuff is complete, still working on the 3D and etc. categories. But, if some kind soul would take a look around and give me any comments/critiques/advice on usability/layout/colors, etc - feel free to log into the Client area with the username “demo” and password “tour” - everything in that section is functional. Kinda. Obviously, this is a WIP, but it’s coming together quickly and I’d kinda like some input on the generalities of the piece - feel free to toss some C&C my way about the portfolio pieces that actually are done and up, 'cause I’d appreciate that, too! Oh - yeah - if you do log into the Client area, please don’t bother actually making a new customer. No offense, but my database is pretty small (it’s my testing site), and I’d rather not bloat it before I’m done with my internal testing - the functionality is all the same with the demo account.

Forgot to mention - if you hit one of the unfinished portions of the portfolio site (anything other than the 2D sections, and the 3D Products page), you’ll have to refresh your browser to get out - haven’t gotten those done yet…

Interesting. I’m kind of in a hurry so I’m going to jump straight to the feedback, rest assured I’m not hating the site :slight_smile:

I think the gallery browsing scrolls way too slowly. Gotta move fast imo. Kind of annoying that it jumps back to the top when you hit the back button as well, though the slow scrolling doesn’t help on that of course.

I had no idea what was going on when I logged in with demo/tour, maybe because I didn’t HAVE anything to do in there, but it felt confusing. I read the descriptions on the left, but still felt… odd mystified of what was supposed to happen when I selected things in the bars and hit the submit button.

Overall there doesn’t seem to be much design gone into it yet, things looks sort of… barren. Not entirely awful, a slick simple design can be wonderful, it just comes off somewhat… boring, to me. As it is now.

Thanks for the critiques! :thumbsup: I hadn’t noticed that the scroll was too slow - I’ll take care of that today. And I’m trying to figure out a way to keep the scroller in position when you hit the back button - I think I know a decent way to do it, I just gotta get it done! As for the boring, I’m gonna play a little with the text on the left (which is actually the wrong copy - I just realized that I deleted the actual stuff, uploaded the old crap. No more cleaning of the hard drive beore 7:00 am for me!) and some other stuff to spruce it up a little. I am shooting for the clean and simple look, but boring is probably taking it a bit too far!
