Sintel Released!

#1

Surprisingly nobody has spread the news here…

After almost a year of production, Blender Foundation / Blender Institute’s new short film, Sintel, has been released.

Remember Blender’s open / Creative Commons philosophy of releasing short-after the movie, ALL the files of the project, so stay tuned, and give feedback!

I’m suprised and tad disappointed that this isn’t promoted on first page.

I’ve watched now for the 3rd time and it’s awesome! It’s amazing what they’ve achieved on such a short timeline with such limited funding… an oh yeah all open source software.

Who would have ever believed it was possible. It’s an absolute must see!!!

great job Blender Foundation, and thanks for sharing!

There’s a reason it didn’t make the front page. Expectations.

People expected to see more than they did. ED and BBB both exceeded everyone’s expectations. And because they did, Sintel did not.

Still, fine job, team! Be proud.

Fantastic animation and all credit has to go to the team and the Blender itself!

I agree that this deserves more recognition and promotion on here than it has received, but that should not overshadow this great achievement.

It’s a must see for everyone!

Blender all the way :buttrock:

There’s a thread similar to this on cg news maybe that’s why nobody posted here sooner. I liked the animation too. And very nice direction by colin. The story was simple but has a nice twist at the end. Also, nice dragon model. Lol

I’m very dissapointed , Blender is much Better than this

Yes, it’s always the people with no portfolio on CGTalk that are the most disappointed with the work of others. F’ing grow up!

Very tragic ending… poor Sintel, after that long journey.

The art is expository and astounding. This is good stuff … it tells me to continue learning Blender. I don’t see why anyone should frown at the output. Art comes in different forms and with different techniques, I’m sure it could have been done differently if that was the objective/concept.

There’s any problem if i have or not any PORTAFOLIO on Cgtalk or whatever ???.
I don’t like and it’s my problem if you don’t like my opinion don’t matter to me :).

Pd: grow up and learn to respect others opinions
