Simulating wind "blowing" effects on smoke?

Is there a way to simulate having a smoke trail being “blown” by wind forces? Like if something was on fire, and the smoke is coming off of it, and is it rises it slows starts blowing away from the fire?

in 3dsmax you can just use particle flow -have the smoke particles rise then set an event trigger like particle age to send them to the next event that has a wind force in it to blow them away.

Boy, you’d think something this simple would be built into C4’s particle section. Ah hem, Autodesk…wink wink.:thumbsup:

sorry im not a combustion user, we use shake so not sure if there’s an easy solution there but i use 3dsmax for particle effects. good luck!

How about a bouncy reflector pointed at an angle to the direction you want the smoke particles to follow?
