Simple technique to create own world maps

hello,

i found this over at VCP

do you know a way to create those maps? i need a good planet map but not a one of our own world. i thought of creating myself but i havent used photoshop that often.

why not reference from that one? Use it as your base layer and maybe use clone stamp to use parts of the world to make new pieces of land

One way would be to use a procedural texture generated with a PS plugin, like Filter Forge or MapZone. I think they both have trial versions.
