Position: Shot Technical Director (Digital Features)

Department: Lucasfilm Animation (U.S.)

Position Summary:

Shot Technical Directors are responsible for autonomously lighting, rendering and compositing of very complex shots for Digital Features.

Primary Responsibilities:

[ul]
[li]Runs shots under guidance of a Key Creatives.
[/li]
[li]Designs and creates lighting and the look of computer generated objects and scenes.
[/li]
[li]Determines need and extent of mattes, paintings, effects and shaders for digitally composited shots.
[/li]
[li]Participates as a team member in determining various design solutions; provides feedback to other team members of the production.
[/li][/ul]Education, Experience and Skills:

[ul]
[li]Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent work experience.
[/li]
[li]Two or more years production experience with strong working knowledge of various software platforms including Maya, Shake, or other high end Animation software.
[/li]
[li]Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripts.
[/li]
[li]Highly proficient skills in technical problem solving.
[/li]
[li]Excellent communications skills.
[/li]
[li]Demo reel and/or portfolio required.
[/li][/ul]Physical Requirements:

[ul]
[li]Uses a computer keyboard at least 80% of total work time
