Short Scenes: Pygmalion Computer Graphics Project
Maronson & others: I have done some experimenting w/ CGL the rigged version - yes the one that Jamie couldn’t convert. I put the Maya file in the notepad…and wherever it said 7.0…I put 6.0.
Since I don’t have Maya 6.0 up and running (and even if I do my computer can’t take it) … does anyone…anyone at all … dare to test this out?
I have no idea what’s going to happen next if one is to open it in 6.0. I’m trying out here:shrug: …we need as many animators for Convent Garden Liza as possible.
I hope all’s well w/ it. And if you have problems getting the folder itself, please e-alert me. Had a DSL issue anyway. I can re-place it. It’s in the FTP site as:

Hi all… some success on my part… I’ve managed to convert Eliza to Maya 6.01 proper…
after some screwing around and backflips I ‘tricked’ maya into doing it…
Loulu: after all that the solution was a simple one… create a .ma scene and then import the .mb scene… Maya trickery at its best 
So hopefully everyone will be able to animate this version… the whole rig has remained intact… so good news for me… Now I’ll be uploading this new version to the FTP in about 4 hours… I’ll post again once this is done…
From now on Updates of Eliza will be in Maya 6.01 only… if this is a problem… let me know. I’ll give you a work around for other versions of Maya…
Now I’ve got a some work to catch up on… I’ll do some weights soon and also add in the scarf for those other scenes where its needed…

Scudz Almighty & omega3d: Some one just told me in an e-mail that they would rig a model for us. If I didn’t make a mistake, they were talking about Col. Pickering. If I did make a mistake, they were talking about the Englishman model. Let’s see which it is when they make a post here.
Status: The Project is composed of 16 characters and 17 animation sequences, 18 if you count the curtain call.
Characters: all are modeled although George Bernard Shaw needs rework. Flying-Hawk has this model and is looking at it.
Rigging: Rigging issues 1) G. B Shaw same as the re-model issues, 2) The Englishman (3dsmax) needs a finish rig. 3) Col. Pickering might have found a rigger 4) Formal Eliza needs a face rig. Anthony Mcgrath has the model 5) Fancy Lady is being rigged by Admiral Ra 6) Fancy Man rig is unassigned 7) Freddy is receiving a mouth and eyebrow rig - Nottoshabi is working on it 8) Henry Higgins is being worked on by Rodney Brett.
Animation sequences: Jazeon is working on sequence 2. He reports that all frames should be rendered by the end of February. Tughan has completed sequence 4. Omega 3d is working on sequence 5. Nemirc is working on sequence 7. Loulu79 is working on sequence 9. Omarhib is working on sequence 11. Capel is working a shot from sequence 12. Wilson3d is working on sequence 16.
Backgrounds: All models are stored on the FTP site and Dark3D is drawing the Angel Court background.
Compositing: We have three compositors standing by, Amy_517, Mike Van Handel, and Eric Gorski. Mike gave me a DVD today that has all four scenes, using the backgrounds, sound track and scenes where we have them and storyboard frames where we don’t have anything yet. I can use that for setups and rehearsals until we need a better dvd at the first technical rehearsal, March 4th.
I remain optimistic. If we can get through the rigging hangups, I will be able to bring on more animators and we can start to connect the dots. Shaw and the Englishman are in the Preface. Freddy is in Scene two. Pickering, Higgins, Formal Eliza and the Fancy Couple are in Scene three.

Loulu: The upload you made did indeed have problems… the file available was only 300k! so I’ve removed it now 
I’ll be updating this Eliza rig probably every two days… I’ll be getting the shawl rigged and also painting any weights…

Nemirc: Very strong animation.
The one thing I’d work on a bit more is the head and facial expression. It’s not enough oomph…
And oomph for me means…more pazzazz…more flavor in her character.
When she says: “Never mind young man…” I feel her expressive voice for the word “Never”…and that means - to me - she’s gently shaking her right hand (left to us viewers) … as a slight gesture…a “lady-like” shake-gesture.
“…I’m goin’ over the taxi…” I actually “see” her put in more flare…confident smirk/spark…in her facial expression. And also the same hand that she shook is expressively used for another poise: the right hand to point at herself. Lady-like. Remember Convent Garden Eliza is trying to impress the Taxi-Cab…that she’s a lady.
Also … I sense the other hand is being placed at the hip. Not so lady-like…but she’s trying her best.
Overall great animation. Keep up the good work.
Mine’s coming up soon…I’m sure of that.

Wow, it looks like everything is coming together quite well. I wanted to say that one of the other projects I’m working on, a mod for an older game called Freelancer, is coming close to the initial Alpha build, so the majority of the work I’ve done for it is nearly done. I’m not quite sure what I have time for, but if there are any little jobs that need to be done, I could try to help out.
Rakile: Welcome Back. We still don’t have the prop British coins so that’s something small we could use.
