Short Scenes: Pygmalion Computer Graphics Project

#761

Admiral Ra has posted a WIP of the Taxicab rig. The doors open and the window rolls down so that should be enough for Loulu79’s scene.
It is on the FTP site at
2_CoventGarden/Characters/TaxiCab/taxiCab_Rig_v03.zip

Kemer2 is helping Loulu79 by making a close up version of the CGL model.

Jamie Telford is working on the rig for the version of CGL that will be used in all of the other scenes she appears in.

CGL Rig in Progress

Hi ya… I’ve just come on board, and have just started on the Rig for Covent Eliza.

I will post more pics as I complete work… hopefully will have something animating and deforming by next week…

#763

This looks great guys!

That limo model is awesome!

#764

Sorry for the delay Mike! Just wanted to show the work I’d manged to do on the englishman textures. Unfortunately not far along (the same i’d shown you on email)!

If you’re at an urgent stage I can post up the max 8 file for people to continue. Work has really picked up again and i’m trying to fit things where I can!

#765

erilaz: Yes, I think you better send me the model via email and I will move it on to someone else.

#766

Yay! Liza! Looking forward to see how this rig will turn out.

#767

hey guys,
the framerate we want is 29.97. its the NTSC standard (we’re in North America). i know some people working on this project are probaly in the land of PAL where the resolution is different and the framerate is closer to 25fps.

we want the least amount of compression so the higher the datarate (or bitrate) the better. we want these video files to be highest quality (approaching uncompressed), but we’re not asking for uncompressed video files because those would be 2 big to transport over the internet.

i’m sure there’s alot of options when you render video out from whatever video program you’re using, so if you’re unsure, go with standard DV NTSC, which should be 29.97 NTSC 720x480.

We need to concentrate on animation and compositing for the next five weeks. We have to collect rigged models and post them on the FTP site for animators to download.

CJCrave and CornFielD did not respond to the December Roll call and have not responded to emails since then. So the ballroom background and the Fancy Couple are now cancelled. That is a shame, Geoffery Blackman was looking forward to seeing his conceptual art brought to life. At this point someone would have to be responsible to model and rig the Fancy Couple within two weeks and we just do not have the resources.

Preface: 1) We need someone to finish the rig on George Bernard Shaw. He has to have his whiskers and hair attached to the rig and he is ready to go. We have one animator (Wilson3d) waiting for this model and once the hair is attached I would try to recruit two or three others to finish the four GBS shots quickly.

  1. Jayezon is working on the cell phone animation. After a false start it seems that things are going well again. Amy_517 is standing by waiting for frames so she can start compositing. Mike Van Handel did you see Amy’s request in post #728? Also does she have high quality background video on the FTP site to do the final composite?

  2. Tughan has completed the classroom scene.

  3. Omega3d is animating the British Pub scene but we only have one complete character, the Scotsman. Erilaz tried to get a texture on the Englishman but he doesn’t have time to finish. I’m waiting for him to return the model. We need a 3DsMax modeler or rigger to finish the Englishman.

Scene 2: 1) Admiral Ra has started rigging the taxicab. He has two doors opening and closing and a window rolling down. That’s enough to use the model in any scene where it does not talk.

  1. Nottoshabi is rigging Freddy.

  2. Kemer2 is preparing a close-up model of Covent Garden Eliza.

  3. Me109 is rigging the medium and long shot Eliza.

  4. Loulu79 is waiting for Kemer2’s model to finish her closeup animation. She has a copy of the Taxicab model. Once we have the models done for this scene I will try to recruit more animators to help out.

  5. Rakile is animating the taximeter.

  6. Andy Foster: We need the background video for this scene.

  7. DeathStar129: We still need you to post your British Coins Model.

Scene 3: 1) Opreska is modeling the limousine. He likes it so much he has offered to start the animation for that scene but he can’t do it all so we need help here once the models are turned in.

  1. Burkester is rigging Col. Pickering.

  2. Utpal is rigging Henry Higgins.

  3. Anthony McGrath is doing a facial rig on the Formal Eliza model.

  4. Eric Gorski is doing a test render of Formal Eliza in the ladies powder room.

Scene 4: Needs to wait until we have a completely rigged Taxicab. Mike Van Handel I have a new idea about te background video for this scene please contact me.

Curtain Call: This ending scene is just a dream right now.

The play: The first week of rehearsal is over and we only have a few scenes left of rough blocking then we start working on sub text and characterization.

So there it is. It is still possible to finish in time. I appreciate the work everyone is doing. If we finish our models we call in the animators. The earlier we do that the more likely we will have something to show on March 10.

I spent a little time today updating our web site. There is now a new category called Stage Production. I put a few snap shots there from the auditions and costume measurements. If you are interested you can even see what I look like. I’ll continue to post pictures there as significant things happen. In case you have just joined us, the web site url can be found in my signature. You can find assignments and project status there as well as the storyboards, and instruction guides for animators and riggers.

#770

Hey, that’s really cool. I was wondering about when will we see real actors. Sweet.

#771

*nice to see those people working, so you are that old man Mike:)…its an honor for me as part of the crew:bounce:…good luck to all!!
P.S. Shayna–she is lovely:love:

#772

Hi everyone, my name’s Nate and I’ll be modeling the Fancy Man.

Just browsed through the entire thread and I must say it’s great to see all this talent coordinated so well.

I’ll post renders as soon as I have them.

Cheers.

#773

Well,
I’d say that I’m completely finished with “Jeeves” (limo). I’ve uploaded a few pics…

#774

That limo looks awesome man! Great stuff!

#775

Wow! Great looking model. This projects really starting to take shape

#776

1.8XL: By “old” you mean that with respect, right? I don’t feel old and I certainly don’t remember becoming old. Projects like this keep me young.

Nathellion: Welcome to the Project! Nate says he will make a speed model for one half of the fancy couple. If it works and we can get a model in less than two weeks, the character will be back in the scene.

opreska: What a crowd pleaser your limousine is! Send me the model files and I will post it on the FTP site.

#777

*:shrug: yeah Mike, i cant imagine you are in that age, i thought i was just dealing for around late 30’s or early 40’s man, i hope it doesnt bothered and offended you at all…maybe im just too young to be part of the project…and its a priviledge Mike:love:…again Thank you very much!

#778

Hey guys. I got a bit of work done on the Fancy Man. I should be done tommorrow.

BTW, the limo looks great opreska.

#779

Well, here are two links the the avi’s I made for the taximeter animations I have so far. I’m pretty sure that something will need to be changed, as that’s just the nature of animating.

Have at it

Oh, and I know that some of the textures are missing, like the bump map, so I’ll be sending the max files to Mike so that whoever is working on the Taxi can put the right textures on and render out the scenes correctly.

Rakile: Mike Van Handel made a composite of your animation and added the sound effects:
Rakile’s shot

Nathellion: Welcome to the project. That’s exactly what we need right now. Solid work done quickly. I have heard from another modeler who says he will work on the Fancy lady model next week.
