1.8XL: Looks wonderful!!

Dark-Jedi-1929: I already found 2 peoples who want to texture the teacher. If it is ok, I will give them your nickname and the link of this thread and the website…

Can I ask (one of) them to texture the teacher??

Hello…

I am taking over the Cell Phone Girl Character… This seems like a great collab project and I am happy to be able to join in! The progress so far is fantastic!

I am not sure how the hair should be done? Is polygon hair ok? Here is my progress so far…

and the wires…

#263

Looks great, nice and clean so far Liseelulu!! Welcome! I think polygon hair will be ok. I used for the English Student polygon hair too and the English Teacher has polygon hair too…

Buon giorno mio amici!

I had some time on my hands, and thought I’d finish off the taximeter modelling in one go. So this is the ‘completed’ modelling (meaning subject to changes by critique:)). Here are the renders for you:

The whole model (including the wheels and other tirnkets attached) is somewhere in the range of 7400-7500 polies.

*an update of the stair…
–i had a hard time in modeling of the stair ‘soffit’:D, im not sure with the correct term, anybody can help me pls…:shrug:

#267

1.8XL: Way to go dude!

Agent Prometheus: Looks good overall, but have you booleaned the polysfor the holes in the meter? I pesonally don’t think its a good idea man.

#268

Liseelulu Eliza has polygonal/nurbs hair.

1.8xl…looks much better overall (though the white is still very cg’ish)
the staircase adds so much character to the piece.

Agentprometheus…very simple and to the point…grand.

#269

I loath the fact that I have to use booleans, but I simply can’t thing of another way to make such an irregular shape. I can fix the geometry that it left behind though.

1.8XL :: Lookin good. Keep up the good work!

*Thanks for your kind comments guys:)

ROCKMANEX: im looking for a light color contrasting with the ‘dark red texture’ of the wall, thats why i used white fin for these. anyway, im still waiting MIKE for approval.

*anybody can help me with the stair soffit plss:scream:…im stacked on it right now:D

Hi Amy

seem to missing this file, which is causing havoc with the lack of skin

“// Warning: Texture file C:/Documents and Settings/Amy/Desktop/Amy’s stuff/Liza/uvmap.psd doesn’t exist, node psdFileTex1 //”

i have reconnected everything else ok, but need this file if possible

thanks

also Liseelulu, great work

also everyone else whilst i am at it

Mike, I’m still dealing with my computer problems, but I uploaded a 1000X700 300dpi tiff to my site for you. http://www.bonestructure.net/PygmaliionHallway.tif
I’ll try to get it on CD and get it to you, but I’m still having some glitches.

Everyone: So nice to see the posted work this evening. I just got in the house, I have been traveling for 13 hours so I won’t respond to all now. I’ll post again tomorrow.

roodroosje: I changed the Web site as you requested. Don’t forget the OBJ files. That is insurance that we will be able to finish. (For example: see below.) Thank you for finding some one to work on dark_jedi_1929’s model.

The English teacher model is in Maya 7. But Dark Jedi exported his model to OBJ format and included it in his zip file. So we SHOULD be able to texture in 3D S Max also. The model can be found on our Project Web site here:
http://home.comcast.net/~mike.aronson/wsb/html/1287383/view.cgi-.html
I will send the page password by e-mail or pm to the modeler who decides to do the texturing.

jcasano: Welcome to the Project! I have sent you an e-mail giving you some choices of work to do (including texturing the English Teacher.)

Liseelulu: Very nice work!

Thank you very much Mike!! Yes, jcasano would like very much to texture the teacher together with Glozwurld. She will signin today. jcasano has 3ds max and Glozwurld hasn’t, but she can work with uvmapper to map obj.-files.

I didn’t forget about the obj.-file export, but some questions came upto me…

I wondered… Would it be ok to export the model with a lowpoly head, so that it still will be easier to animate the head? Or should I export as lowpoly as possible? (Then a few parts of the model should be smoothed later) I exported the English Student and imported it in other programs, but the spencer didn’t look as nice as in 3ds max and a lot of work had to be redone to let textures look almost the same… I saved old files, so if I have to I can make a new spencer…

I did find out again how to officially make morph-targets in 3ds max, so I am able now to make the expressions. I thought I read that the scene of the teacher and student would be animated in 3ds max…?

Hey Guys…

Do you want me to rig CellPhone girl? I am using Lightwave 3D…also do I need to do facial morphs?

#278

Hi Roody…Don’t go as low poly as possible. It screws the model royally (unless you are doing it for a game). Instead just take the version which will be smoothing…without the smooth operator. Thats the lores model we need

#279

Thanks dark_jedi_1929! I like you call me Roody : )
and I want to say here too to Liseelulu that you gave that cellphonegirl a wonderful look!!

Also already love the style of the interior with the stairs!! Great work you all!!

just need to check something

with the uvmap.psd file applied, i have a pale version with lines, see attached, and with the colour layers only applied i have a dark skin tone version (see attached also)

are the skin tones as they should be with the uvmap layer taken out

thanks

oh yeah, also how much dress/skirt movement would you like, if at all, on the walking of the character
