Working on the last view of the city:

Hope you guys like it.
Cheers

It feels like the grain is too high on the live action elements. It’s important to add some grain/depth/blur to get the elements to work together but if you think about a photograph there is usually more grain in the distance with less in the foreground. It seems to be a bit un-natural with the extreme grain in the foreground, and less in the BG.
Just my thoughts,
It looks good,

Also, consider the source of your lighting. The live action figures are lit primarially from one direction, almost as if by moonlight. The city is very bright, and almost uniformly surrounding the figures. I think that if a rimlight could be simulated on the figures, or the lights of the city brought down it would be good. THink about a big big city like New York, it’s never that dark on the top of buildings because of the insane lights of the city, and the bounce off the clouds.
Think about your lighting dude, but it does look good.
Hi John!
Thanks for your feedback.
The foreground is of very poor quality and I didn’t want to spoil also the rest of the image by all the grain.
The foreground is just for getting the idea. There is supposed to be different foreground with different lighting and I suppose there is some lightsource on the left. I can assure you that there will be a lightwrap arround the foreground - Alican has already showed me some compositing tests and it looks nice.
cheers
Hi everybody,
Our visual work is almost done and now we’ve started taking renders and making corrections and adding some absent materials etc.
Here is something I wanted to share, final building collapse.
There will be some more elements and particles added into that but you can get the idea.
Hi everyone,
We’ve finished up the movie and it will be online on September 1st. But we’ve opened up it’s web page. You can check it here:
Hi Guys,
Today, at last, we’ve put the movie online!
Now you can watch it on www.dominationthemovie.com .
I hope you like it. We’ve tried to do the best with what we got and I hope that we will do better next time
I can’t thank enough to people who collaborated on this project. It was a very special and nice time to work with all of you.
Cheers to everyone!
