all the progress on this has been very good thus far! very impressive animation and character design.

Hey Michael,

I can’t wait to see this film finish too. :eek: This week I was busy for me. Seeing family for Thanksgiving (an American hoilday), cleaning the studio (my desk) and the producer (my wife) has been hinting that I need to tidy up the facility.

Well, what do I have to show this week?

This is a rough pass of the War Zone done by Jeff Garsteki (very good artist). We are planning to use this to Block out the animation and camera work.

UNIT : Looks like it’s coming on well. I would have loved to work on this but I’m nowhere near good enough. Will soon be working with an artist friend to see if we can put something together though!

Im at work at the mo and can’t view .mov’s but will certianly check it out when i get home.

I don't think I will be able to show anything next week. Work is busy right now:rolleyes: but what I'm planning to do next is model the Mom or the guy playing the mom.

It’s a shame to see when projects with so much potential not getting the support they need.
But you’re doing a good job and keeping a good pace regardless.
Maybe you should keep posting a list of small props and jobs you may need.
or even posting concepts of props, and other small things that people may be able to do.

The character animation is strong, it’s even fun to watch as a playblast…
His hop looks a bit strange in the animation , but that can be because there is no sound.
Is he reacting to something when he hops before he pauses ?
Anyway, far better then what I can do. I cant animate even if my life depended on it

I’ll be on the look out for more.

This has been a strange two weeks. I received emails from three music composers who wanted to work on the short. The composer that I chose is Yiannis Kranidiotis. He has worked on other short films. You can check out his work at http://www.kra.gr . I’m quite happy to add his talents to this film. I think his music will add depth to the short.

         On my part, I have started modeling the Mom character (the man playing the Mom). I roughed out the head. I plan to           finish the model by next week (I hope).

I would really liket owrk on this if you still ahve openings, it seems to me thigh that the blocked out concept does not meet the style of the robot and the characters at all in terms of enviornment, i will try to draw up some concepts of what i mean shortly. But again id love to work on this. Dimi03@gmail.com is my email or you can just post em here i will check up on it.

Hey nice work you doing there, im not that advanced at Maya but i can help you with a bit of environment modelling if you need any. I will keep watching this thread to see whats going on.

Are you talking about the Warzone? Do you mean making it cartoonier? Right now it’s rough because I want the animator to block out the action and acting. Then I can block out the camera. That way Jeff can know where to concentrate on his modeling and texturing.

Actually, I have an enviroment that I would like you to tackle. It’s the superhero sequence. I’ll email you the link to the animatic and what I’m looking for. Tell me what think?

Well, I finished most of the Mom. There are area that I will need to clean up ( the face, hand and the middle seam). Still rough but I think it’s enough to show. Here he is.

I’m going to try to finish him this week, meaning I’ll bind and rig him.

The week between Christmas and New Years I’m planning to animate. I’m hoping to finish scene 1.

i dont mind doing all the props or even the whole environment. Just send me concept of what the environment should look like and what props are needed.

I’m still a bit of a newbie to the 3d scene (who isn’t ), but nothing like a good project to spice up your skills.

Hey I just kinda stumbled onto this thread, and I’ve been checking out your stuff. Currently I am working on an indie film (a HUGE undertaking, all CG bkg with live actors… headaches)…ANYWAY, I noticed that you need some people to do Effects. I myself love working with particles and dynamic animation, and someday hope to be TD in the field. So if you still need someone to help you out with it when the time comes I can put in a couple hours a day here and there.

Keep up the good work, your character animation is very nice!

I am currently studying Technical Direction at a University and I am always looking to get into projects. This one seems like it is going somewhere and has potential. My strengths are rigging/dynamics/mel (I just recently wrote a script that allows for the user to place locators for an arm anywhere and it automatically rigs an IK/FK arm) - I am good with stuff like this…I am also a pretty good animator with Characters and Technical animations. I work with Maya and Houdini. I would love to help out if you still need some help in anything I listed. Send me an email if you are interested…
