News&Stuff:

  • We are preparing some more extra stuff (like turn arounds with models and such) but don t know exactly when it all will be ready. A new thingy on the site is in the new Extras section from downloads with the previewed thumbnails on the animation.So while you hold the mouse on the thumb it plays the file. Of course you can also download it.
    But, we are thinking on making this extra stuff undownloadable, just to be previewed in site. This would be to increase the site revisiting probability.

  • Our brand new compositer ,General Midi, will make a background music for the site, with a lengh of about 30-40 sec tha will be loopable. This is a good start for our collaboration since it worms us up for the soundtrack of the movie.

  • I see all the members are sending me emails rather than pm from CGTalk, but if you like to work this way please add in the title your username from here, because this is how i remember you and what task you have. So to make things easier for me please do this. Also add near the username a meaningful subject title. Just to have an order since i m only one person :smiley:

  • I am currently talking with one member a time, and i don’t exactly know how you guys feel to not know what is going on with the rest of the fields that this project has . Since members don t really interact one with each other i m the only ring that holds the chain here so i guess it’s not an exact “team” in it’s best deffinison.
    We had a forum before, but i didn’t liked at all how things worked out. People didn’t respond very well, and also encoureged others to stop working too. So for this reason only i decided to work individual with every member and make sure they have everything they need. Also in this way i can take care of problems easier. i need to know some opinions on this matter.

I think the site idea is good.
Might be nice if it would become a central place for people to check out things.
Many of such sites get deserted after some time, even cool ones like this one.

Too bad the online discussion thing with members doesn’t work.
I always enjoy seeing peoples’ work and the discussions, but if it means it can compromise the process, I’d say leave it out then…

BTW I’m just a music composer, I’ve only heard of this compositing thing!
(Sorry, I’m nitpicking here ;-))

Feeling inspired though, let's see what I come up with....:D

It’s a good idea to make the main info source the site it self. Many projects use this forum for example, but i don’t find this such a good idea for multiple reasons.

Just wanted to clear some things:

1 - if a member doesn’t give a sign (pm,mail,etc) to let me know he is still in to this project for more than 4 days in a row, i will consider that person out of the project, and hi’s task is considered as available. I am not asking for daily WIPs (though it would be nice) but at least take a minute to let me know your status from time to time, to organise things better.

2 - i am not going to send mails after mails to see how a person is going and drag him and talk to him to make him work. If there is no dedication than it s better for you to not be a part of this since otherwise it s not working

3 - during the weekends i m pretty busy, but in the middle of the week i am all yours (quite the other way many people would think), and as most of you may noticed ,except weekends, i respond promptly to any mails and pms.

Seems only fitting; the moment I get a huge brainwave with tons of ideas for Asgard audio, it begins snowing 4 inch snowflakes in the middle of March…

frasu : Do we need character animators? Neah…wait…what am i saying…hell yeah :D, more than anything . Our schedule and deadlines aren t the same from start to end. We will discuss this depending on the task. Do you have some material to show me? And are you interested only in animating or into rigging to?

Just to let you know, and all the rest, that we will mostly provide specific animation details (to let you know exact what we expect from a certen animation) by giving you footage with us (yea…you will see who talks behind this username :D) simultaing/acting the moves. But, this will come after a week or two, since we do have some other priorities.

Also, i wanted to let all of you know, that i didn t had that much time today (lots of things to do at work) and i didn t manage to answer to your mails and pms. But if not tonight, tomorrow for sure will do that. So don t panic if i don t answer right away cause i m seeing your mails as they come.

Hey man…by your username i thought you were romanian but didn t wanna ask (and also sounded familiar). I saw your demo today on Visual Art. Great demo.

I ll talk with the co-producer about your demo, and see what is available for you to start with. You didn t answered my question (though from your demo i guess you do that to) about rigging.

Also…cloth/hair simulation?

Just wanted to post some work done on Helja. I consider the chracter fairly complete at this stage and ready for details (like eyes and teeth) and wardrobe and jewelery.
