Hi… my name is Patrick Zator and I am a writer living in Toronto, Canada.
I have recently aquired the rights to an award winning story from the 50’s by the “first woman” ever published in the genre of Science Fiction. I have re-written the story and adapted it to the screen, keeping the story as tight to the original as can be allowed. Its already a proven story, so I wanted to keep it as intact as I could.
What I need is some 3-D animation at the begining and end of the film. They are space sequences and I want them to be in 3-D, the body of the film is 2-D animation. The begining is of a little space ship tearing through the cosmos at incredible rates of speed, hot-dogging and dodging asteroids. They crash into one and end up landing on earth. I’m looking for depth in these shots. Cosmos, galaxy space mist. I want to feel like I’m really in outer space. (the begining of Star Trek:Next Generation is a good example). The end is the ship taking off, leaving earth’s atmosphere and flying off through space.
I have my actors, I have my sound guy and studio, I have my music and scoring being professionally done and I even have an incredible band writing a song for the short. The Pylons @ http://www.thepylons.com .(if you check out that link, listen to the song ‘Here We Are’, it was written by them for another movie.) All of these people, like myself, are working on this project for credit alone. The long and short of it is… there is no pay.
The only payoff would be that the film will be entered in all the major film festivals and your name will be there too. The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the biggest in the world and I would try to enter it at Sundance and even Cannes as well. Not to mention the dozens of other independent animation festivals. It will be accepted in all of them, trust me this story is hot and I believe it was always meant to be a toon.
Like I said before, the story has already proven itself and if looks and sounds like i want it to (and it will), it will see results again. Remember, your animations can only be as good as the stories you make them for.
Serious, profesional replies only.

Please try to provide examples of your work that relate to the project, eg. ships, space.
Thank you for your time… all replies will be considered.
