Shirow Project Book#3 Side-Mission

#5021

Agreed SD, we are certainly closer than we were 6 months ago. I just realised I’ve been working on the fuchi for over a year - it’s definately a pleasure “volunteering” on this team (you can’t get rid of me :))

#5022

Has it been that long…wow…we’re tenacious if nothing else.

#5023

This is a workers overalls mesh… it’s a mod that combines part of Sllink’s Pilot suit with Ace’s Eswat body. I did this because the poly flow on Aces models chest and arms seemed to work really well in MB, and Sllink’s model’s lower arms and legs were more loose like overalls.
I still needed to enlarge the legs and arms but it gave me a base to do it on. The mesh has been unwrapped and textured.

On second thought…maybe I was working a bit too fast on that last one…after looking at it again…I think I’ll do some more on it…Overalls with a one peice metal collar…what’s up with that? :argh:

Donshole- The fuchi clip is timed coverted and in your FTP. I’ll try to have the comments for you this week. :wip:

Colkai- You did such a nice job on the crew character rigs…I was wondering if you would be available to do the rig setup for the new characters so I can concentrate on the head/body/set textures?

#5026

When will we get to see some of that fine animation work on the fuchi :D? I am getting curious, hehe. Soft, as you know I am developing a small game. I have got a good part of my engine up and running and I remembered that you would like to see your models in a realtime viewer/ walkthrough. I might be able to create such a walkthrough for you. So contact me if you are interested :).

#5027

I’m on …contact me when you have time to fill me in

We’re working on a clip…not what you are gonna be expecting likley, but it should be done by the end of 2006

#5028

Donshole- Comments are up too now.

#5029

I’d pretty much took it as read that I would be doing SD so yea, no worries.

#5030

Thanks Colkai…I’ll post when I get it setup in your FTP. Some will already have bones I aligned (hands etc), so that may help reduce work on your end a bit.

#5031

Tweaked the textures and added a few subtle extras likethe draw strings. Also touched uo the head textures on this guy and added sideburns and closed a couple holes he had in the back of his head.

After

SD, seen the comments, I think they are workable:). I have a few minor thoughts of my own, but will work them after I’m done with your suggestions and if time permits.

BTW good texture work:thumbsup:.

#5033

Donshole- Thanks :)…I still need to know what your thoughts are about whthere it was worth working on the broken door sequence I questioned .

Colkai- The guy in the above image is in your FTP under CHARACTERS folder.
I tried the skelegon conversion again, and still get only one bone recognized…strangely, if I look in the scene editor all the bones are listed…so it’s like they did converted, but they are non existant in any of the windows. :hmm:

#5034

I guess I should still add proper bump map for his hair and continue the sidepanel seams on the underside of this arms. :hmm:

#5035

Shall scope it out at lunch, see what I can do

EDIT:
Had a look at the model, there is a 1-pt skelegon in there preventing the conversion to bones, it’s easy to remove as it’s the only 1-vertex polygon in the mesg/rig.

Did that and it cvts to bones fine, just need to sort out some naming (the chest bones are all still named ‘elbow’) and set up the parenting and it should be good for an MB export.

#5036

ehhe…finally a simple fix with our rigs
Thanks Colkai.

#5037

Uploading the LWS ‘setup’ scene used to export to MB, exported FBX file and characterised FBX in the following RAR files to my FTP area.
Fell free to play with them over the weekend as I’m away until Monday, (as per normal  ).

Filenames:
LWS_LWO_Shirow_NewGuy.rar
FBX_NewGuy.rar
FBX_NewGuy_Chr.rar

Prolly take a while to upload 'em - but should be complete in about 30 mins.

#5038

I’ve had a day off today, so I worked on the anim. I wanted to do the broken door sequence but it wasn’t workable. I’ve tried uploading the things I’ve fixed in your comments but ftp site appears to be down. I’ll keep trying.

#5039

Hi SD, just so you know, there’s a copy of the current iteration of the animation in the ftp area:).

#5040

Thanks Donshole.
