Shirow Project Book#3 Side-Mission

#4801

Got back from vacation and back to my computer this weekend, so i’m here. Hopefully I’ll have that model that’s taken nearly half a year to get done, done :argh:  . Hopefully my attention span comes back to me and I can finish this soon  (I’ve been working on it…).

#4802

Here, sorta, partly in mind, but not fully, but then, I never was.

#4803

Im here(kinda just packing up some stuff but still around). SD I sent you and email and uploaded the file to my FTP for your review and special touch. You need to create a tutorial on how you get that look.

Colkai- I have that mech trooper police if you have time to fix the !@#$% weightmaps:)

I am still checking in every now and then :D, haven’t had any times for months now to touch a 3D program.

But you guys are doing great, keep up the good work!

Oh, and I finally completed my site :). It is on http://www.tangrin.com for anyone who is interested. I also have some shirow models on it under 3D graphis design :applause:.

Anyway, keep up the good work, I am looking forward to more :buttrock:.

#4805

Thanks for checking in all of you.
Still looking for Donshole

Sllink- I did get the file, Thanks…hope to have something soon :wip:

#4806

Made a few changes and fixes to the model, but they might not be noticable (but they are there!):

I’m not sure I’ll be able to make the hands better, but I’ll try. Other then maybe getting the mask buckle a bit more like the ref picture, and the wrinkles on the sleeves (and maybe a less curved shin gaurd), I’m not sure what else to do. Well, time to finish this model.

#4807

Sure thing mate, if you can let SD know where it is once you’ve uploaded he can chuck it in my FTP area and I’ll take a peek.

#4808

Ace- You’ve come a long way with this model, looking really good.

#4809

Ace- Glad you stuck with it. Its turning out excellent. Keep on going and we’ll keep watching!

SD and Colkai- I have uploaded the Eswat Landmate to my FTP SD if you could get it to Colkai that would be wonderful. Thanks guys!

SD –

It’s been a LONG time, so I thought I’d stop by and give congratulations to you and your team on sticking with it and putting out some great looking stuff.

I don’t happen to be tied up with anything at the moment… got something that I can build?

If you like it, I might be a bit of a sniper… sneak in, fire off a model to you and sneak out once in a while.

Cheers,
AJE

Got it Sllink
Gonna weight map it, I’m guessing we want the same sort of MB constraint system on this as we do “The G-Man”? So we have the ‘pilot’ and mech rig / heirarchy. I’m assuming you want me to tackle that, if not, just let me know.

#4812

Colkai - Excellent!. You got it right MB type of rig weightmaps and all. Yuck I dont envy you. Im trying to find a quick way to get weights done but Im still having a hard time understanding the concepts . Thanks for the help

#4813

Worry not my friend.
I’ve enough practice with the G-Man to pick it back up quick. The weight maps are no hassle just a little time consuming setting them up. Basically, as we are looking at a ‘hard-body’ each piece has it’s own weightmap which is tied to the bone driving it. The bone has to have it’s pivot at the hinge for that item. I tend to group parts that won’t interfere, so all ‘forearms’ use the same weight map as the left & right forearms won’t cross-influence, neither will the inner and outer.

#4814

AJE- Thanks for dropping in. We still need someone to redo a Ship body, if that’s good for you here is the info>

It’s a mesh for the main body of a scifi air vehicle.

I need a clean Version that I can UV map properly
Here’s a .obj version of the mesh.
The mesh template I linked has to be followed closely in shape. The redone hull needs to be integrated back into the model and fit existing landing gear etc. so the cutouts need to be the same size in the new version.

A .lwo is over at

SD - H.E.L.L. Yeah! - nice job on the tank textures

#4817

SD - Nice job on the tank textures  .

#4818

SD- What more can one say:love:Incredible, I hope it wasnt too intensive I had a lot of parts on that sucker.

SD- You just need the body remodeled right? I think I can make time for that let me know if you would like me to work on it.

#4819

Thanks guys.

Sllink- No worries, you deserve it  .
And if I didn’t say it already, nice modelling you did on this tank too :buttrock:

If you mean the dropship body. Sure, If AJE doesn’t get back to us in another day or 2 go for it and I’ll find an alternate for him.

#4820

I forgot to mention that either Aje (if he gets back and says he’s doing this model) or Sllink. If possible, I’d prefer if this could be done without subpatches and use a smoothed mesh instead. Not to hard huh?
