No I think it is right on the money. Take a look at this done by a tunnel machine. You can see the spacing changes in it also good job.
Shirow Project Book#3 Side-Mission
The tunnel looks great…
I don’t think it has too many sections, I think the texture helps to break it up a bit.
The textures look good as well subtle but effective… the only thing that gets my eye
is that string of numbers at the bottom, gets cut by a big seam. but no big deal.
Thanks guys. I’ll maybe make the joints a little narrower like in Rocket’s ref. Thanks for that Rocket ![]()
The numbers and other markings are still to be painted out of main color imagemap and put on a seperate, properly placed layer, so they won’t be cut off like now.
Hey, great work guys. The tunnel looks fine with all the joints btw. Sorry I haven’t been active for the past few weeks, just being bombarded by test an all at uni. Keep it up guys:thumbsup: .
If I were you SD I would not touch the tunnel at all till you actually added some characters in their. Once you have that then you can better gage any changes you might needed. Right now I’d say you’re pretty much spot on.
You know your going to be a scarey person if/when you get your hands on the new Node Editor in LW9!
Wow, thanks guys, Ireally appreciate the positive feedback on this. I’ll take your advice Aurora and see what the fuchis look like in there…after I do just a couple wee tweaks that are still bugging me.
Will be interesting to see 9’s node setup when i finally upgrade. Right now i am trying to focus on honing my tools and workflowto get some speed improvements on this stuff and get it out bit faster as we head into the summer. :wip:
All ways good stuff in here  Excellent work guys.
Any closer to another public teaser yet?
Hey team, great job on the bug, hand, house, and tunnel. I see alot of progress going on, and more members coming in. Here’s some update on my part. The fin looks too small, I know…I fixed it but didn’t render the fixed one. :bounce:

Hey SD,
Nice work on the tunnel. I’m always impressed with your texturing skills.
I have been, and still am under a load of work. There is light at the end of this tunnel though. So I’ll work on fuchi this weekend:) . BTW, any problems with the rig you have now?
tzktime
Thanks for the update:thumbsup:. The body looks really good! I guess that as mentioned previously you’ll make adjustments to the head.
KM-Thanks.
As far as releases upcoming, There a a few things in slow progress. The Fuchi and sewer tunnels are part of the cellshaded series some of us are working on. (you’ll probably see these released first)
We also have some behind the scenes work happening that includes the Tower /Docks /Dropship sequences. And another exciting surprise model that longtime members and viewers will get a kick out of…- it’s loaded with nostalgia…hint…hint .
As usual, When any of this gets done for all to see depends on what the various members are able to put into their area of contribution. Lately we seem to have a few bursts of extra activity so we may have another jump soon.
tzktime- Looks almost finished…I like it all, xcept the mouth part is still a bit off…maybe it’s just my impression though. Good that you modelled some bend in his arms too. I think that will work well with animation!
Donshole- no problem if you are busy for a bit, and thanks for checking in to update:)
Also thanks for the texturing comments. Hearing it’s liked by all of you makes the tedious parts of the texturing more enjoyable to do.
May sound like reciprocal back patting, but I also sincelery am blown away by your work on the MB end of our project…We’re fortunate that we have such a near perfect, complimentary balance of specialization among our team members. :buttrock:
Donshole-Forgot to mention, no big problem on the Fuchi so far. I am gonna pass it to sllink to since it seems pretty solid from my end…good to have another person check it too…only the flip is a bit annoying when I use his controls too hard…not that I am prone to that
WIP for tonite>

Moved some stuff around and fixed the joints a bit …plus some other misc work on the texture maps like painting out those chopped numbers that were in the previous WIP
Donshole-Do you know if we can make the inside of the round tunnels a ground object for the fuchi’s to skate and loop on with proper wheel to surface contact?
Those WIPS rock as always, I like the look!
Not to answer for Don, but yes you can, in fact you can make even simpler my taking the tunnel abse geometry and the do so ‘cutting’ to create points where you want the path to go. Then play connect the dots with those points to make a new curve, (do an extra rail extrude with a single point poly) with you need the path toi have more points and or be smoother) you can then use that new curve as a motion path for the fuchi to travel just like we did with the monorails way back when.
tzktime - Looks great. I agree with SD, the mouth mask piece thing looks a bit off. Looking at the ref pics, I’d say it is probably a bit too long, and ovalish. In the ref, it also looks like it is made of two pieces rather then just one (which is maybe why yours is a bit long); it looks like it is suppose to be a hemisphere connected to a cylinder or so. I’m refering to this ref image by the way: http://shirowproject.softdistortion.com/Gallery2/uploads/police_mecha_front.jpg . Also, I think the wing/jet/flap things on its shoulder are a bit small/thin; could jsut be me though. Keep it up, and hope to see it done soon
.
SD - Looks great so far
.
Hey team, I fixed the nose area and the fins. I want to finish the modelling but before that, pls throw all the crits at me so I can finalize it before moving on to texturing.
Aurora- Great ideas, thanx! :buttrock:
Donshole- I was going to output the tunnel sets in FBX for MB…can we do something like Aurora suggested or is there another way you have in mind for MB?
Thanks all ![]()
tzktime-can you do a smoothed render…maybe it’s the rough cage throwing me…the mouth/head still look off a bit somehow…
