#404

Wasn’t expecting you to be back so fast…sorry…

Ok, I have one up for you in the archives section>air vehicles.

#405

Cool really looking forward to seeing those when i get home tonight, can work on two at the same time, boat-airship-boat, and so on

love it:bounce:

#406

Just to let you guys know,
I haven’t vanished
Just been very busy with work for the wildlife centre, we have a zoo inspection coming up and we want to get several things in motion for that, so it’s all hands to the pumps.
Going to do a ‘gun’ to go in the case inner then I promise I’ll start work on the station wagon … honest

Colkai- Hey, don’t worry…we won’t shut the door on you. Do what you have to and get back when you can. We’ve been pushing a bit here and there, but the collab should remain an enjoyable prospect and not an obligation. If I get sounding like it is…just ignore me.

TEAM- Still working on the water surface texture. Aurora and I have been trying a few things to get it working. I think we’re getting close with the look of it…still need to set up animation and see how the waves look live. :surprised

#408

The Still looks great to me

#409

Very Nice water.
Had a sytem crash while working on trooper yesterday. I reboned the trooper usine T4D. Im hoping with this new rig Im hoping it will work a little better for transfering files. I should be able to get back to work on the cockpit scene. In he meantime here a little test scene.

jayreef - The Opera? Really which one? You know I don’t like listening to it all the time but I love going to see them especially German opera’s. I love the mythology in German operas. In fact I have actually sat through all 3 cycles and 17.5 hours of Wagners Ring Cycle. I wish I could see the whole thing again sometime. Someone once mentioned that PBS actually filmed the whole cycle but I have never managed to find a copy of it.

OK what was it we are doing here oh yeah CG.

I have not been to the Shirow Forum this morning yet so have not seen the ref image SD posted but what about the helicopters from GITS?

SD- Now thats what I was thinking of for the water and it looks like something that can easily be displaced. Thats extremely close to what I was after with Psusnami only since this is pure procedural we won’t run into the problems I described. Anything with heavier wave action is going to make it hard for the other effect we want to achieve without having to move to use Mayas Fluid effects.
I took me a while but I managed to set up better track path alignment around the towers so I’ll finish setting the scene back up today no prob.

#411

sllink - sorry you posted while I was typing. You got Peters (T4D’s) auto-rig setup? How do you like it. I have been seriously thinking about getting it. Even more so since he keeps promising a quadruped setup soon as well.

Hes a good sport I’ll say that. The docs are not perfect but he is very helpful. I boned the trooper 3 times last night and the skelgons wouldnt convert I kept getting and error. I sent him an email and not 5 minutes later he responded with a couple of quick tips. His tips didnt help so he asked if I could send him the scene and bones, mesh. I sent him the scene so he could take a look at what was wrong it turns out his rig had 2 or three bones with the wrong name so the expression kept kicking out errors. He somehow got the wrong version of the FRED rig mixed in with his package. He fixed it and we have totally complete rig this morning. I havent tried it out yet though. I think his solution is perfect for this type of collaboration because the rig and animation go with the scene so we dont need the plugins to use the rig!. The price is right also.

Can someone please tell me how to put a picture in my post? Is there some trick?

#413

Yah,
Ya gotta upload a picture to your webspace, then link to with with a URL but surround it with an ‘img’ bracket block

#414

Hey guys… sounds like more great progress. Thanks for all the work you’re putting in. I’m posting a link to Sllink’s walk test.
7 meg DIVX

Also here is a rough water animation…needs work, but I think we can now say that it will work …I’ll add some particle spray and mist and it should look great

5 meg QT

This is the result I got from doing an ocean tutorial, big heavy waves but they can by modified by textures to size/swell differently.

http://www.colkai.dsl.pipex.com/miscwork/ocean2.avi

http://www.colkai.dsl.pipex.com/miscwork/ocean2.zip

contains the scene / objects to tear apart for ideas if ya want to.

#416

need a few of these i think:thumbsup:

#417

SD - Thats alot closer to what I was thinking of with the ocean texture. I was looking for a old project and ran across a tut from 3D - World that used an interesting, fast, easy interactive ocean setup. I had completely forgotten about it. I think I’m going to take alook at that as well.

colkai - That turned out really well. I remember doing that tut a while ago as well. The only problem with that method is the amount of time it would take to render our 45km x 35km grid would be well, more time then I have left to live. But it would look very nice when it was all done.

Jayreef - yep I think we can use a few of those.:applause:

SD - where those helicopter ref images from Appleseed or GITS? They look like Appleseed to me but not really sure. I think its because I needed a pick me up last night, thanks to the wasted day we talked about, so I watched GITS.

#418

Opps I lied. The tut was an article in Keyframe issue 29. Real cool tut. It used Eki’s Sea-Gen plugin for the ocean scene. I totally forgot I had that. I’ll have to take alook at it and see if it will work for us. Umm alittle slow on the render but then there are quite a few other things in the scene which takes ALOT of comp time.

#419

as a break from boats, i am detouring and on the helicopter

post update later:bounce:

forgot sorry, Aurora Verdis, La Traviata, my first opera, but not my last hopefully, was a great evening, with meal, and night out, first since jnr came along, 3 years ago

#420

made a start, try to finish tomorrow night:thumbsup:
