jayreef - thats the fanciest garbage barge I’ve seen. LOL! Your to cool man! As for boats yours are hot. Love them. Now that you’ve seen the Tower complex you have an idea of just how big this thing is. To make it funner we are actually putting three of these things together in the train-dropship sequence. So, oh yeah we need lots of boats. But don’t get burned out on them.

Akiraf - thats cool I would love to see the bike. I just got Akira this last week and plan on watching it tonight. I’m even more excited because I should finally be getting GITS this week. Never seen that vid either!

SD - As for deck level and interior shots lets talk about it. I actually added a few things in that would help in that area. Plus I have a few assets for dressing up areas like the train station already done since we will see them as the train zoom past the middle tower. And yeah we’ll need a couple people for that. Hmm, what about adding one or two of sllink’s awesome ESWATS at the station as well? The harbour dock doors are already setup with morphs to open and close and the top walk ways to lift up/down. I was trying to add animated walkways going from the main walkways towards the harbour wall buildings. But stopped after setting the walkways themselves. I then thought that if we go that far we’ll animate the walk ways with a texture timed to flow with a null. The same null would also be used for moving the people along the path. Yeah I know in reality its a little harder then that but no need for techs here and now. Just know its up and working. Theres no actual doors setup yet. However I have a whole library of doors I can use to slap in place of where I had intended to just texture map doors to. In fact I have plenty of other assets we could use to really dress this whole thing up if we go that route.
Right now I’m trying to reorganize my ShirowProject directory. I got really sloppy with it and it was making life unbearable. I’m also cleaning up all the twenty trillion surfaces I had setup so its much more user friendly now. I ended up using surfaces in place of selection sets for modeling just so I could tell what was what. The Tower itself is cleaned up. Now onto the harbour ring complex.
I have a few other questions I need to ask you about SD but I’ll send you an Email her in a couple of minutes.

Anything but little canoes, kayaks, ect. There to small and never could be seen.

Those panels look great. I sized the cockpit down to fit the trooper. Hopefully I will have something soon.

Sllink- Thanks for mentioning the relative size issue…I got so inot moving ahead with this work that I forgot to check that. I had better wait till you send me your resize before I do any more cockpit work…I may have to redo some of the surfaces. :blush:

decided to shelve the yatch idea, and work on more futuristic boats, and have a few ideas for turning them out in quantity, i see the mmhnemo as a hovercraft styled thing:thumbsup:

jayreef- yeah, saw it awhile back…cool but after a while…kinda seemed like a long pointless fight sequence. nice character animation though…:slight_smile:

Akirafr- Aurora may have a different idea…so Don’t mean to step on any toes, but it Would be cool to have some characters from GITS and Appleseed!

elfling bard- Not really sure, we had Sandman for music and Soulescape for sound FX. We haven’t finished much for them to add sound to, so I think they went to do other things in between…they may still come back though, so right now…
…While we wait to see if the other two come back, we could use some soundFX on a test clip we should have done soon!

Sorry guys been coding all day. Its kinda like good character animating once you get going time flies without you noticing it. Still need to get breakfast and its already past dinner.

Akirafr - kinda agree with SD. But these will just be people that are going tobe seen on at train stations around the tower complex’s as the train and droipship is cruising by. Meaning they don’t need to be heavily detailed. Having said that. We will still need people for later scenes where we will be seeing them alittle longer then a few frames. So its pretty much up to you. But I would suggest modeling them somewhat after the Appleseed/GITS characters. See the Shirow Forum for some ref’s if needed.
BTW - I watched Akira last night. Not bad. I kinda like the way they left the ending really loose. But now having seen it I do have a crit on Kanida’s (sorry for spelling) bike. It needs the front visor on it which comes up almost over his head. That was one cool bike! I’m hoping you give it a nice shiny red color to it as well!

SD - the interior texturing is kick-a!!! Sorry never got any work done on anything. But I’ll make it you and anybody else that uses LW by giving you my new plugin I’m working on. n fact both of them. Ones a star field generator using the tycho database with ~3million stars. I finally got sick of hand codeing a script to do it every time I needed something real. The second one is my new and very much improved asset manager (Sorry SD not like what we have been discussing is for LW projects) I’m expanding it to handle project managment on a much larger scale then before. I spent most of today working on writing the databases for both of these.

Aurora- Thanks on the texturing and Thanks for the plugin…I just got hold of a couple more that will likely prove valuable later on in our work.

Gonna be MIA for about 24 - 36 hours, got some personal stuff to take care of.

quick thought requiring an answer if possible, do some boats fly (air) round the place and have the ability to land on water and cruise between the atols and islands ect :thumbsup:

OK. You deserve a break after cranking out all that work!

Funny you should ask about flying boats…it doesn’t actually fly, but Aurora has a Large cruiser that rises up of the surface when running. I think otherwise they would be on the water, although you have stirred another area to consider… Airborne traffic. We have the dropship…what about some other air vehicles from Shirow World?:slight_smile:

It kinda occured to me too, in the shirow world, do only the police use the air, or do civilians use the air too,

as for auroras rising ship, been on one of those once, know the type, do we need one?

and the air to water boat / ship idea, could that kill 2 birds with one stone if required:hmm:
