Shape keys no workie

Hi

i’m trying to animate shape deformation and save down the shape keys at each key point.

However the animation isn’t happening at all. I open up the animation mixer to check on the clips. Both shape-key clips are on the tracks but nothing happens on each no matter what.

I’ve done this before many times with success so i have no idea what’s going on now.

(on XSI7)

Select Polys… Edit> create center cluster (that’s what I use but I’m sure other types of clusters will work hit f1) I don’t have XSI in front of me so I’m not 100% sure about the name.
