Shading Fluid Frequency Problem

#1

Hey yall,

I’ve encountered a problem regarding the frequency attribute under the shading tab for fluids. No matter what value I enter, the result is the same. Never experienced this before, and I’m sure there’s a very simple solution.

I’ve attached some photos. Any ideas?

No one has any ideas?

Check to make sure your opacity ramp offset is not too high, it looks to me that your opacity is already just clamped or something, hard to tell without a scene file.

Hi Maven,
I guess your incandescence is bit too high…its blowing up the highlights too much …may be that’s why you don’t see the effect of texture opacity.
try putting it down or turn it off for a check & once you are happy with the frequency …you can turn it back ON.
Do tweak the ratio parameter as it’s a combination of both Texture Frequency ratio & Frequency.

For Non texture cheat what I prefer to do is to scale the transform Scale attribute of Fluid node to lower value keeping auto - resize ON. In this way the resolution is gonna get finer but the frequency of swirl & noise pattern gonna scale down without affecting the motion much.

Hope this helps !

Hey guys, thanks for the replies!

I think you were right, Vik. The incandescence values were blowing out any possibility of seeing the noise results from the frequency.

I’ve attached some pics of my progress.
