Set Value Bug? Doesn't respect Units

#1

Anybody else having this problem. I’m modelling in English units (inches) - but when I want to set the Value of some points (move them e.g. 6" off the ground) set value moves them 6 meters off the ground. The move tool’s numeric input is fine - type in numbers and it assumes they’re inches - but Set Value and inputting numbers into the Vertex info box (double-click on the value then typing a new one) always work w/ meters even though units are set to inches.

Since I’m not very good at converting to the metric system on the fly it makes Set Value and typing values in the info box pretty useless for this house I’m modelling.

use " 6" " or " 6in "

Doesn’t work. Both in the Set Value field and in the Info field. Set units to English and Inches. Make a 4 sided poly, select 1 point and Set the Value to 1 in the Y. It moves it to 1 meter. Set it to 1" and it moves in 1 meter. Set it to 1in and it moves it 1 meter. Set it to 1’ and it moves it 12 meters, 1ft also 12 meters. So afaict - it doesn’t work (should work without specifying units too, or what’s the point of changing the unit system if you also have to tell it which unit to use.)

Give it a try, let me know if it is a bug.

Greg

Verified.

It works the right way if the units are set to Metric, but not English. Wierd.

Good catch

‘cm’ doesn’t work for me in numeric input. ‘m’ and ‘mm’ do. Also, if I enter ‘6in’ it’s converted to 15.24 meters.
