set parenting position as keyframe

#1

I have a null object that is moving. I have other null objects that are parented to null1. Is there a way that I can create keyframes on nulls 2, 3, and 4, for the position? right now they’re position just stays the same because they’re parented. What I need to do is set keys so that I can delete the parent and have nulls 2, 3, an 4 still move accordingly.

Any ideas?

Copy the position keyframes from null 1 to any other null and adjust the anchor points.

that doesn’t work because the position keyframe data is the same. I need to get the new position location based on where the new null is located.

Step 2:

Animation --> Keyframe Assistant --> Convert Expression to Keyframes

TrackerViz can also do this very easily.

Just set the drop down menu to Combine Tracks, select Null 2, and execute. Do the same for the rest. It will make new little solids with keyframes. You can then unparent your nulls and copy the keyframes to them, or re-parent whatever the nulls are controlling to the solids. (the solids should be defaulted as guide layers, so they won’t render)
