Separating model parts in Maya and export to MB

Hi!

I’ve got a body model in fbx format. And I want to separate shoulders and hands from the model for making clothing process in 3dsmax more easy.
Is it any way to do it right?
I’ve extracted polygons on the shoulders from the model surface, but when I’ve exported the model to fbx and loaded it into MotionBuilder it looks incorrectly (without textures).
