Seek Advice - Technical Direction for Camera Tracking

#1

Hey guys. So, I’ve done a bunch of tracking on jobs, both 2D and 3D. Tomorrow will be my first time actually TD’ing a shoot. The shoot is pretty straight forward. A model walking down a runway, camera at ankle level. The environment around her will be CG. I’ve included a mockup of the shot so you guys can see what I’ll be working with, more or less. In the mock up, I’ve dropped in where I thought I’d put my tracking markers to enable getting the best track.

The camera will do mostly this motion, though the director mentioned he might have it swing around more to the side on occasions.

I was hoping some TD veterans might have some advice for me. Is my setup going to work out alright? Is there something I may be missing that would work better?

Also, I found a free black and white tracking markers and colored them blue. Dark blue for the areas that are usually black and a lighter blue for the white areas. I figured using the blue markers would make the job easier on the comp guys as they can pull them out easier than the black and white ones. What’s an ideal size for these? Currently I have them at 4.25"x4.25" so I can get 4 of them on a standard sheet of paper. I figured I just apply them with a glue stick.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
