I like the work done on backgrounds very much!..Inspired from ur artwork i ve started scribbling pages of my sketchbook…they ve no more white background.
For the last piece i would agree with Rebecca and though m not the correct person to crit anatomy but may be itz with her pose…upper body seems much smaller than lower body:shrug:

Anyway thx for the feedback - I’m glad I can inspire you to push yourself. She’s just a girl with a little ooomph so to speak : ) One ass cheeck, can I say that?, is dropped too. Oh well live and learn right.
Becks - yeah uprez just looks bad imo. At least I always feel like I want to go back in and redefine all of the edges and details : ( I am such a detail maniac…

Hey, some really great work with this last piece! You might try starting more of your digital pieces with pencil. You seem to have a lot of confidence and control there that might form a better base for the digitals, where there’s less sense of the page.

Thanks Beckanator! : ) Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out out to incorporate all of my different skills and style into one unified whole. The abstract pencil work, digital painting and graphic design. I guess I’m just exploring different options right now and having fun. The correct solution will present itself when the time is right.
not sure what to think about this piece. I love parts of it personally, just not sure about it in general. What it makes people think or feel I guess. I have not gotten a great response from conceptart.org but I know why… its not a ninja or a dragon or a robot. They tend to like work that is loose but based on an actual “scene.” So what do you guys think? Anyone?
I tend to like odd things in a graphic style (just to preface my bias).

Something bothered me in the face, it seems technically correct (to my limited eye), but the ear read slowly and that gave me a bit of trouble grasping the angle of the face. That had my eye rolling up the face and then off into the upper right.
Awesome texture to the whole thing, and the sticky butterfly is haunting. The blood is almost luminous, really pops.
Very nice piece. Well crafted enough to look at it for some time, but not an easy read.The textures and details that u paint are the best and i fail to understand hwcm it didnt get a gr8 response on any website:shrug:

Haha how sweet is that, great drawing / rework there.
A shame I can’t better articulate what threw me on the head, but all I can come up with is how long it took me to place the ear. That kept me from grasping the angle for a bit and the long forehead into the sweeping lines were probably so strong it overwhelmed it. Despite not nailing down an issue in particular, it’s always a good idea to draw another 50 heads I imagine ;).

kary - thanks I like to put a little 7 spin on these otherwise I get bored : p Don’t worry about the head crit I see what people have a problem w/ now… just trying to figure out what to do to fix it : ) I will try and update this more often.

And finally on Jan 3rd I started a new personal endevor that has pretty much consumed my free time. I am concepting and developing a horror/sci-fi 22 card tarot set hopefully I will publish it in the near future. The working title is Tarot of the Damned.
This is a sample of the finished work - the first card 0 in the tarot is The Fool. Its about careless/carefree in the face of danger, openness, child-like innocense etc. Not thinking, just doing.

the first card looks great although I would have loved seeing the chest and arms a bit more defined (is it skin? or armor of some kind? or…?)
the thumbs for the other cards look very promising indeed. Definitely something I’m looking forward to see developing!
