Nice to meet you, Roberto. I’m Peter Kyuyoung Lee.
This is my first time to take Hardcore Modeling Challenge. It will be reaaaally exciting!
Anyway, I have a question about this Challenge.

I’m planning to make a SciFi character which is based on children stories, such as Daddy Long Legs and The Wizard of Oz.
For example, the movie Avatar is based on Pocahontas, you know?

I’m wondering my character would break of the contest rules?

If i did 2 of the weapons from district 9 would that count?

I noticed in the official post you did not put any mention of weapons but did in the thread suggestion area.

I’m still unsure if my idea fits the theme. I’d like to do a re-design of Frankenstein’s Monster based on the original novel with some extra sci-fyish bits added to him. I figured it should fit because frankenstein is the original sci fi icon, but I wasn’t sure because it’s not a recreation of an existing film/tv version of him. What say thee, oh wise Roberto? :slight_smile:

Do it, as RECAST this role.

I would recommend to base the model on a actor, of the past or the present.

so whats happening with the plug? i know we only get one but i can’t remember what was decided…

are we plugging the challenge or the voting? cos i think if we don’t plug the challenge there won’t be enough entries to vote on anyway…lol

Can i do scarlett-johansson from IRON MAN 2, and should be the same fashion and the same poses from the movie or can i use different cloths and poses,

And can we get two characters from different movies and put them together in one seen , or two from the same movie like Tom Cruise and his daughter in WAR of the WORLDS

You can do Scarlett in the same way you saw her in the film.
If yo uwant ot change her look you might want to try to recast another classic SCIFI role with Scarlett.

And I like your idea of doing a collage of different characters, so go ahead.

How far can we go in terms of changing the original design? Can we change around the character features to more suit our taste but still have the character recognizable?

Yo can do that if you wish, just state on the WIP thread that you are doing a modification on the character.

i have a couple of question

1 is there a polycount limite (like 2000poly max )
2 size of the difuse (1024 or 2048)
3 normal map allowed?

i have to say that its my first challenge so maybe a miss a couple of information XD
