Scan line

Hi I’m playing around with a scan line from a mesh light.

I’m wondering if this is the best way to go about it. I want a sharp bright light reflected on a black object.

Scanning it top to bottom.

Any ideas welcome…

Ya, its a scan line over a boot.

Never thought of using a piece of geometry, that may work as well thanks.

You can also use arnold rectangular light and experimenting with a low diffuse contribution. You can also adding a volumefog
