Scaling particle geometry over time

#1

Hi There

I have a scene set up that uses a spehere linked to a dummy as the particle geometry object. (I did this so i could add an offset spin to represent a bubble oscilating)

I want to have the sphere start of at a diameter of 2.0mm as it leaves the PF Source and reduce to 0.1mm by the time it reaches the target box

You will see what I mean if you have a look at the attached file (its a max design 2015 file)

Would be really grateful for some advice

Hey James, couldnt download your file but i’m sure you can do it using the Scale Operator set to Relative Successive.

This option will decrease (or increase) the size of your particles at every integration step (just make sure you use the same at viewport and render. It’s on the PF Source options). In this case you just have to change the X, Y and Z % to something like 99% and it will decrease the size of you particles in 1% at each integration step.

You can use Box#3, Time Inputs to precise control any parameters by Particle Age, LTotal Time, and so on…
