Saving Mocap without folders

#1

I want to save mocap data like you see with clipart (just a fbx file - no .fbm or .bck folder).

I load a base model (similar to the fbx clipart) and plot the mocap to the skeleton. I then save with “Save As” from the “File” menu as a fbx. However, I am getting these folders as described above (.fbm and .bck). What is the process to save mocap without the folders like we get in the clipart?

Go to Settings->Preferences->Saving and turn off “Incremental backup”

Thank you very much! That definetly takes care of the .bck folders. Any idea what the .fbm folders are? They seem to hold a .py file.

fbm folders are the media folders saved with the file. When you leave on the “Embed Media” flag in the save options it will package the data (i.e. textures or clips) with the fbx file. When you re-open the file it will unpack this data into an FBM folder in the same location as the file resides on your local (or network) drive.

Try unchecking this option and it should remove your fbm folders from the file.

Cheers,
Kevin
